Its all about the money, straight guys will often do gay movies for the money. Here's my thing. I believe you can't ultimately know in the truest and most total sense about anyone but yourself (and even that is an ongoing process). So as far as these gay for straights or whateverthefuck they wanna call themselves, I consider it to be really none of my business. Because it's not. I'm my business.

Unfortunately, businessmen pornographers have a vested interest in making it our business. As Peetie 75 once pointed out to me, it's human nature to want what we can't have, to be tantalized by the unattainable. And it's a self-perpetuating cycle. It's really that simple.

My concern is not about these poor saps pedaling not only their bodies but their souls, anyone with half a brain will already know that pornography lies (and that's not a put down of porn -- God knows I'd be a hypocrite for visiting this very site if I were totally anti-porn, I'm just making a statement of plain fact -- porn is fantasy), no, I'm concerned about us, the consumer, and really about me. This issue is all about self-esteem.

Obviously the gay porn industry isn't in the business of helping guys raise their self-esteem - it's in the business of making money - but on the other hand, gay porn has historically been very instrumental in acknowledging and affirming gay identity, so that tells me that it can work for us -- but it's up to us, not them. We can deny our own self-loathing, but that's to deny that the world around us has any impact on our lives.
