I'm noticing a trend... Whenever I have stressful stuff in my life (read: exams), the number of guys in my life increases in proportion. During my somewhat stressful exam period in December, I was sort of seeing two guys. They sort of went away as soon as January rolled around.
Now it's April, and exams are up and running again. These exams are super-stress inducing. After an almost empty March, there appears to be an *almost* endless stream of men who think I'm cute or "hot" (whatever that means). It's flattering, because they're actually guys that are pretty handsome and cute, but it does raise a question: WTF? Does stress give me a "come and get me" vibe? There are a few of them (five or six?) wanting to meet me, and they're all reasonably cute in their own way.
So why do they converge in the one month where I don't have any time to meet them? I'm not sure. But I do have a hypothesis... or more correctly, my friend has a hypothesis. She posits the idea very simply: When we're stressed we seek ways to relieve that stress--in other words distraction. So... it seems that my distraction is men, and they *allegedly* relieve stress... urrr not really. Men are a distraction, but definitely not a stress reducer. If anything the time I spend with these guys is eating into studying.
After all this, what have I concluded? I'm a bit self-destructive, and I need to learn to stop that... but those men! They are beckoning to me, and like a good gay man, I can't help but pay attention... just a little bit...
