Hey boys!

I was curious to ask if anyne on here knows of a good product or remedy to get rid of strectch marks. I have them on my biceps and shoulders after losing wieght, and i'm trying to build my biceps, but i just hate how they look. I have light skind, and the stretch marks are i wanna say white, and it's just affecting my self confidence, cause i wanna wear cut-off sleave T's. So if anyone can help, i'd appreciate lots!

Thanks! :D

There are three approaches to stretch mark treatment- prevention, concealment and removal.

Prevention: There are creams that you can buy at beauty stores like Sephora and drug stores that have a cosmetics counter that will help moisturize and soften the skin. Many contain retinol products or cocoa butter. There's not concrete evidence that these work but there are other benefits, so it's worth a try.

Concealment: Often stretch marks fade on their own. You can hasten the process with retinols and commercial products like Strivectin and Trilastin. These can be very expensive. You might ask at the cosmetics counter or see a dermatologist for samples before buying them.

Removal: this is the most expensive process and involves treatments that you can get from a dermatologist. It involves lasers or microdermabrasion.

If you find something, let me know! I have them myself. They've faded for the most part but I think of them as a symbol of what I've overcome(obesity). The older I get, the more I seem to appreciate them. Of course, there are still times when I want rid of them but it could be much worse. :)

Travis, i absolutely LOVE the way you look at life and the struggles you've been through.

Bio-oil is apparently quite good, i've had good results. Not used it for stretch marks myself - but it is supposed to be good for those

http://www.bio-oil.info/

I googled stretch mark removal for men, cause most of the stuff online is for women and their stomache area, but anyway i read that Mederma is suppsoed to be good??

You might find less commercial results using the medical term for stretch marks: Striae.

For example. http://www.striaecreams.com/ has some good reviews.

Awesome, that site does have better reviews. The prices are up there though! haha

old Fashion 'Cocoa Butter" soaps & lotions will fade the stretch-marks over a period of time...You can pick up good products over the counter and Wal-Mart has the BEST prices,,,

For people of Color try "Ambi" products especially their soaps..Use it 7 days a week and it will fade away the discolorations in months..It's hard to find "Ambi" in stores these days so you might have to order online.....

if you're looking for results over night then don't buy ANYthing..Stretch marks take a while if you're using good products....

^Palmers cocobutter works great. stick or jar works best. Its a remedy very commonly used in the black community and best believe it works. Pregnancies are the ultimate test since its a quick growth and shrinkage. But all the women i know use it and scars are almost always completely healed.

I also used it on my ass and thighs when I lost weight. went from a XXL to a X(X)S. I used it as a lotion basically and it makes skin look healthier and my scars are almost faded away. They blend right now and are only noticeable it your eating my ass with a flashlight.

(shea butter is also great, almost the same but not quite)
