TAMPA, Fla. — Over at the back door of the 2001 Odyssey, a limo-size tent with flaps — especially designed for discretion and camera-shy guests — is ready to go up. Déjà Vu is welcoming extra “talent” from around the country in its V.I.P. rooms.

Here in Texas the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Dallas Chamber of Commerce love, Love, LOVE IT when the State and National GOP have their Conventions here, and the only other group that spends MORE money is when the Southern Baptist Conventions decides to convene their National Meetings here.

Hooters, Adult Entertainment Strip Clubs, Gay Bathhouses, and all of the Gay "stripper" clubs do a "BANG UP" business when they're in town.

Reminds me of some "Baptists" jokes:

Q: Why do you want to go fishing with two Baptists?

A: Because if you go with one he'll drink all of your beer.


Q: Why don't Baptists have sex standing up?

A: Because they don't want anyone accusing them of dancing.

And my favorite?

There are only three Religious TRUTHS:

1. Christians don't accept the Pope as being the Leader of the Christian Faith.

2. Jews Do Not Recognize Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior.

3. Baptists don't recognize each other at Liquor Stores, Strip Joints, or at Hooters.



It's only "right" that we include the right wingers of the GOP into that demographic.

And to be fair?

When the "liberals" and "Democrats" come to town, not so much.

From past experience, it's pretty predictable that a GOP crowd in town means lots of business for the "low" side of town.


And I bet Chick-Fil-A will do a booming business, too.
