STS-135 Atlantis on the pad, awaiting launch.

If all goes well, at 1526Z the final shuttle will blast-off into history.

I always wished to see a launch in-person. So much for that idea =[

 I remember that time too.......

I wonder if this country will rise to the challenge as we did back then or let the corporations take over.

I had to take a picture of the TV. It sounds silly, I know.

But, my mom has a picture of me in front of the TV for STS-1. =]

I saw one night launch as the shuttle lit the night sky (we were staying in New Smyrna Beach at the time and the launch time was not announced because it carried a military payload at the time).

I got to see shuttles on the launch pad and in the vehicle assembly building. Also got to see Apollo on the pad and in the VAB. An era has come to an end; I wonder what will mankind do to next reach for the stars....
