Anyhoo, this fame whore called Lauren Ashley is obviously trying to copy Carrie PreJean's claim to fame by modeling herself as a good Christian girl who never does alcohol or drugs...but regularly parties with Paris Hilton. Hmmmmm-mmmmmm.

Her quote:

"I feel like God himself created mankind and he loves everyone, and he has the best for everyone. If he says that having sex with someone of your same gender is going to bring death upon you, that's a pretty stern warning, and he knows more than we do about life."

So, it's okay to kill gays according to her.

But it's okay because she has gay 'friends':

"I have a lot of friends that are gay, and ... I have a lot of friends who have different views, and we share our views together. There's no hate between me and anyone."

Hmmmmmm-mmmmmm. Gay friends my ass. If I ever had a 'friend' that told me that shit, she'd get a bucket of bull semen tossed on her head.

I really don't see what's the big deal. What she said wasn't even that inflammatory. I don't see how what she said equates to "gays should be killed." Many people interpret the bible literally, but they don't actually advocate killing people. Should she have worded it the way she did? Probably not, but the words eloquence and beauty queen aren't usually seen together.

My point of view is a little different than most here. While we clearly cannot chase and bark after every junk heap that insult our sensibilities, I do believe that we occasionally need to make an example of one these extremists.

The thing that really shut Anita Bryan down and out was the sheer magnitude and intensity of gay anger.

This particular shallow beauty queen is not consequential enough to justify that kind of firepower. But there will come a time again when our rage will be warranted and needed.

And I wonder if this younger generation of GLBT has the capacity to become enraged enough about anything to make a difference when that time comes. It pays to get even, legally. But sometimes it's necessary to get angry too, and if it becomes thing for beauty pageant contestants to regularly disrespect us, we have to shut them down.
