Stupid little things you ALWAYS do

Every single time I unlock something (door, car, etc), I turn the key the incorrect way first. Every single time I do this, I think "I'm such an idiot".

I always turn the wrong knob for one particular burner on my stove. I never mess up for any of the other three burners...just the one...and it's every single time. Again, I'm such an idiot.

Whenever I set something down that I need to later take with me, I think to myself "I'm going to forget this." And then I do.

I'm sure I will think of many, many more...

Forget where I put an object, like my dorm key. I would look all over my dorm room, and only to find it in a place that i overlook or right in a perfect view, but never did notice it..

Yes, that's a classic one.

I subconsciously check my pockets for my phone and wallet all the time. Many times, I have plugged my phone into the car to play music, then later checked my pocket for it and began panicking when it wasn't there. One time, I even PICKED THE PHONE UP TO TURN DOWN THE MUSIC so I could look for my phone.

Any time I wear a ball cap, I always loose my sunglasses when I put them up on top of my hat!...can feel 'em!

...and yes... I have looked for my keys while holding them...

Whenever I set something down that I need to later take with me, I think to myself "I'm going to forget this." And then I do.

I read somewhere once that when you say to yourself "don't forget this", you actually trigger something in your brain to forget it as opposed a simple change to "Be sure to remember this"...don't know what it is, but it actually does work!

No matter how many times in my life that I have stepped on an escalator, I always hesitate for a moment, and let a few of the steps pass before taking the step forward to get on.

I always check to be sure that my zipper is up... after I step out of the men's room, never in the men's room.
I say to myself, why the hell do you do this?

I mark my usb plugs. The colored side goes down. It stopped being a problem

Unfortunately, they're not always horizontal, so there's not always a top. I have a much worse time with right and left.

I'll just use this one because it's the most annoying one. I'll be in the middle of something, and I'll idly think "Oh, I have to remember to do such-and-such." It might be "I'll have to remember to take that thing in for Fred at work." Or "I'll have to remember to renew that thing online." Whatever it is. And then I'll think "That's fine - I'll remember", and start thinking of other things.

I have absolutely no idea why I think that. Because I ALWAYS forget. I KNOW I'll forget. I forget these things constantly. I've gotten marginally better at actually going and DOING that thing the second I remember (because then I can't forget), and I'm only now starting to do things to HELP me remember if I can't do it right then and there. I might put my car keys under the thing I have to take in to Fred, or put a reminder on my phone. But I'm still constantly doing the "yeah, I'll remember - let's think about something else now" thing, and I'm really not fond of it.

I check my zipper too. I pretend im tucking in my shirt and I let my finger move down to feel the zipper to see if it is zipped up

Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if us guys would just check each others zippers?
