"I knew you liked Britney Spears" came from one really dumb friend. I have not and never will like 'Bintney'. Apparently upon disclosing your sexuality you waive all rights to musical credibility...fool.

What a fun thread!

My sister: Really! How cool! Everyone I know has a gay brother and so do I! (she was living in San Francisco at the time and was feeling like her family was too square and ordinary I guess).

Friend (over dinner): No shit, Sherlock, now are you going to have the regular Ceasar or the chicken ceasar?

My partner's father--to him: You know, I can understand two men loving each other, but I can't understand butt fucking. Doesn't it hurt to have a guy stick his dick up your butt? (I can't imagine having this conversation with my father, so I asked him how he responded. Gracefully as ever, he replied--When you love someone, trust them, and they are gentle, it's really quite pleasureable and loving. To which his father replied--"Oh, ok, I guess so." The things people are curious about!)

When I came out to my mother her only reply - "Well, I'm not taking the heat from your sister for this one!"

From the sister that mom was referring to - "Well, if Daddy wasn't dead, this would've killed him."

My mother said "I cannot imagine having a man's penis in your mouth, I've never let a man put a tounge in mine".

My response "You have been married 3 times and you have not let a man put a tounge in your mouth"

Mom "Most certainly not"

Me "Perhaps that is why you are not married"

A true southern woman](*,)

Most of the people who I have told said the would have suspected my older brother but not me. My older brother is also married with kids.

My Best friend in college: So.. what does cock taste like?

My ex-girlfriend: At least we can go shopping for shoes together.

my Sister: you're just a little fucking actor... you're just doing this to get attention.

friend in college: Are they sure?

friend in college: I always kinda thought so.. you're too manly to be straight.

friend in college: Oh.... I guess that you're not a tit man, then?

former co-worker: have you considered getting that fixed?

co-worker at the gay porn film studio I presently work for: I thought [my boss] didn't want gay guys working here.

co-worker at the heavy metal magazine I used to work for: So.. I've been meaning to ask you what you thought of that new Cher song.

I have had a "thats nice, but I really need to pee"
"So that means you like guys aye"
"Your ex-girlfriends are going to be so pissed, hahahahaha"
"So you dont like my girlfriend"

this is not from a real life story.

Gayman: (speaking in a gay tone like "jack from W&G) I wanted to tell you something, something that i've kept for years...

Friends: yes?

gayman: I...... ammm.... GAY!

friends: uhhhh.... you dont need to tell us that... we can see it!

Mom: "If you want to move to San Fransisco or another city where there are lots of gay people, we'll support you."

Good friend: "My sister put you up to this, didn't she?"

Best friend: "So, does that mean we're not getting married anymore?" (Inside joke)

Friend/Roomate: "That just means you watch a different kind of porn than us."

Just before I could come out to my sister, she evidently knew what I was going to say because she asked me if I was a fagolo like those on Will and Grace. It was so hilarious of a comment that I had to stop for a second to laugh before telling her that yeah, I was

my dad - "so in a relation ship are you gonna be the man or the woman?"

i think he was trying to ask if i am top or bottom

my sister - "Do you like any of my ex-boyfriends?"

the same sister - "So now you're gonna transveste yourself?"

altough she asked these stupid questions, she is extremley supportive.. and my sexuality doesnt bother her AT ALL. :-)

haha, the same for me gambit...

my mother: but you are gay... in the sense of male or female?
(= top or bottom?)

I answered male... it was too hard to explain that I think i'm versatile... haha!

the last day talking during dinnertime with me my dad she said something like "all couples have problems... EVEN IF they're of the same sex" (my dad does not know and I was like "oh god, why are you saying this, just to make him suspect?" LOL... my dad is never ready to understant statements like this ;-) i'm lucky

Aunt (lesbian): "Haaaahaha!! Welcome to the club!"

Funniest response.

I'm not out yet, so I don't have stories to share. All in good time though.

I did hear one horror story of a jewish girl. She came out to her mom and her mom ran into the closet! She was crying and hiding in the closet.

But now for me..

ME: I'm gay (crying a bit)

BROTHER: Wow, it's like I'm in a movie.

It sounds really lame now, but actually it was an ice breaker. :-)

Mum:- Oh, thank God for that - I thought you was gonna tell me you got ***** pregnant!

Sister:- Damn! You're gonna get all the gorgeous guys in college.

Dad:- (joking) Well I've only just paid for your sister's wedding, so don't make any plans yet!

Best friend:- Cool. My sister's gonna be so pissed - she always wanted a gay guy as a friend. It explains why you're always staring at **** instead of his cousin who is supposed to be your girlfriend! Tell you what, I'll have her and you can have him, we'll double-date!

My brother's comment, after a few days:

"Mom and dad couldn't believe you we gay, you aren't fashionable, you don't dance, and you don't go clubbing. Mom and dad were more worried I was gay then you."

Me: "I've got something to tell you"
Best Friend: "Hahaha... you're gay!"
Me: "Errrr, Yes"
Best Friend: "Hahahahah, good one... now what did you want to tell me?"
Me: "I'm gay"
Best Friend: "No really!"
Me: "Read my lips - I AM GAY"
Best Friend: "But you can't be - you're my hetrosexual role model!"
Me: "That's you fucked then"

When I came out to my dad when we were in the car. He said that it didn't matter, etc... all the right things but he did say that it was vexing to him that I turned out that way -he wanted to know why I was gay. He wasn't asking the heavens "why has my son turned out gay, what have I done to deserve this!" No, it was more of an intellectual curriosity (though he would not have used that terminology); he wanted to know if it was genetic, or it it was partailly learned, or....

Anyway, a few minutes after we had our talk, we passed a very pretty woman walking down the stairs of her row house. My dad said, "are you telling me that seeing her doesn't make you want to go to bed with her at all?" I said, "No". "Really?", he said, "not at all?" He then said, "that's interesting, you must have gotten it (he meant being gay) from your mom's side of the family."
