i came out to everyone on my Live Journal recently.... msot of them knew but one of my friends moved to texas before i came out to my friends and he has been without internet for like 4 monthes so unbeknownst to me he didn't know i was gay... so yeah this was his response...

when i came out to one of my straight best friends i was of course scared that it would be awkward, etc.
so i'm sitting in his room playing guitar waiting for him to get back from the shower . he comes in and after some stammering i finally say "i've got something to tell you"...he warily says ok. i say so this coming thursday i'm going to apex (gay club) with a mutual friend (i used her name)....he says fine. quite surprised and relieved at his light reaction i try to make sure by asking are you ok with everything, no awkwardness? he says fine why would i be angry?
so i go get a snack. call a few girl friends and tell them that i finally told him. after eating, i came back and....something doesn't feel right. so i go back to him and i ask, do you understand what i meant? and he says of course, you're going out with (the girl) to the club....lol. he thought i was with her. the other reason it would be awkward was because he had a thing with her right before.
i sat down again and said "no....you know that apex is the gay club right?"....he replies yes....still oblivious. i still couldnt' say i'm gay so i went with "i'm not going for her, i'm going for the other reason"....and then it finally dawned on him.
his response?
a blank stare and: so why would it be awkward again?
i just thought it was funny that the last thing on his mind was that i could be gay heh.
oh and a funny response just came yesterday on a facebook message from an old family friend i haven't spoken to in a while...
"Bro, why does it say interests: men?"
i was tempted to respond with:
"because i like the penis"
