haha, a few weeks before I finally came out to my Mum, I was watching X-Men 2 with my mother, and in the "coming out" scene with Bobby/Iceman and his family, my mum turns to me and says "I'd love you if you were a mutant". haha i just thought "subtle, Mum"
Of course when I told her she was so fine about it, no problems at all.
Later that night when I was sitting in the loungeroom of my Mum's house, and her husband (who I find best not to talk to usually, and makes all sorts of comments about "poofters") came out and said "so you finally realised you're gay. I've known for ages, I told your mum "i bet he's gay"". To which I replied "I'm glad I could finally make you happy". Anyway, despite his dickheadedness, he was nice about it, and very supportive. He's just a twat usually.
My Dad I finally told a year later, when I told him (I'm fairly sure he was stoned at the time), he said "that's a bit out of the blue isn't it?". I was just thinking "what, have you had your eyes and ears closed for the last few years?". Then he said "well, I'd still like you to find a chick and get settled down", to which I replied "yeah, that's not going to happen". And then he stood up and gave me a big hug, and said that of course he loved me. So it was all good

A couple of weeks later, after I got a haircut, I told him it'd look better once I straightened it, and he said "why do you straighten your hair? Chicks love curls." I kinda just laughed, and I think he realised what he'd said... but not sure, as I said he was probably stoned when I first told him.
What I DIDN'T tell him was that I'd realised I was gay from the porn he kept in his cupboard. And occasionally when I stay at his house, if no one is at home I have a look in his collection and find the occasional gay dvd

Not sure if he's curious, or what, but I think it's pretty cool!
Oh yeah, when I told my sister (one of the first people I told), she pretty much said "that's so cool! How exciting!!". haha, I pretty much thought "well, I'm glad YOU'RE happy"
and finally - this thread rocks!
