Years ago right after I graduated college, I was still a young and naïve millennial ready to change the world. One night while on my way home from the gym, I drove past what looked like a young kid hitchhiking. I stopped and picked him up. After asking him a few questions he finally admitted that he was running away from home. We talked a bit and I convinced him running away wasn't the answer to whatever problem he had. I then drove him home.
Years later, thinking back of that night, I had a moment of panic. Jesus Christ, what if the kid claimed I tried to rape him? What if the house I dropped him off at wasn't his house at all? What if I got pulled over while having him inside my car and he screamed bloody murder? Good god, that was a stupid thing I did.
You ever done anything stupid that you didn't know was stupid until years later?
