Stupidist movie you ever saw

The Box....at least I think that was the name....based on a Stephen king short story....with aliens and government spies thrown in for no reason....

It was by Richard Matheson and the original story is quite good. The movie was overly complicated and pretty terrible

I never actually saw it, but I heard that Napoleon Dynamite was pretty bad.

It works, provided you really REALLY like off-beat, quirky comedies built around ridiculous events and a range of complete anti-heroes.

It has its own charm, and in great quantities, but it is very much aimed at the minority.

That's like Starship Troopers -- the book was superb; the movie was a piece of trash.

Ode to Billy Joe
Gorgeous young guy (a stunning Robbie Benson in his prime) gets drunk and has sex with ugly old man. Why? did it have to be an ugly old man. Young guy kills himself out of shame. Girl shames ugly old man for his "ungodly" ways.

This (along with some flaming queen at a Car Wash) was the epitome of how homosexuality was portrayed in the 70s, if at all.

Shame on Hollywood and FUCK YOU SOUTHERN UNITED STATES oppressive religious society. I'd like to personally slap the shit out of all of you from that era, but I digress.

I give it one maddening head banging thumbs down.

Thats funny.
Two of the movies mentioned above I came across yesterday.
Wendy Williams talked about Ode to Billy Joe yesterday and I saw 'The Box' when I was surfing on the internet yesterday. In fact, I kind of thought 'The Box' was a simple idea originially and they did ruin it when they made the movie.

I agree with Bewitched. It was bad.

Starship Troopers had some eye candy in it. Casper Van Dien (swoon)

Waiting, with Ryan Reynolds and Andy Milonakis.

I can get with some gross out humor(I am, after all, somewhat of a Jackass fan), but I can't watch this movie without wanting to slap everyone involved.

The movie was far better than the trite militaristic novel (a poor man's beginning of Full Metal Jacket but without the innuendo), and I consider myself to be a Heinlein fan and not per se a fan of Paul Verhoeven. It is true that the CGI didn't age vey well.
