Suggestions for gaming console

I've got a 2 terabyte external hard drive, and two portable drives, 120 gig and 400 gig. Can it handle any or all of those as "expansions"?

Why do I need to install games? On the PlayStation I never had to install games. (that I'm aware of) I just played off the disc and made saves.

Is there such a difference in the way the two systems work?

the ps3 bro it looks great and is a beautifully graphically sound system that has basically no problems
