Sultry singer Eartha Kitt dies [merged]

eartha and james dean were close friends in the early 50s in nyc and were in dance school together. she was the most unusual talent, she was charming no matter what she did.

I associate"Santa Baby" most with the sultry, sexy Eartha Kitt. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.:(

I just downloaded a bunch of her songs a couple days ago after watching her in an episode of 'Living Single.' This is very sad! :(

This is such sad news.

I went to her birthday party at a gay club many years ago, and then met her a few other times.

She was a marvelous performer.

(I was just singing "Santa Baby" to myself the other day.)

She'll be sorely missed in the cabaret scene.

She was in town here, last February, and I just couldn't get out of work to take in the show.

Of course now I regret missing Eartha Kitt. And why did work matter so much?

She was also YZMA in The Emperor's New Groove.

She was a brilliant woman.

Rest in peace baby, you done good....
