As I said, I was inspired to try out some innocent naked exposure on my own -- hardly innocent - but not malicious either. Who knows maybe there was someone with a camera, taking photos of my naked body - just as I had done with the frisbee team above.

About 4:30pm when the fisherman leave the river (most have on waders and are out flying fishing), I move from near the side of the frisbee soccer field on down to the river's edge. There is a grassy / bushy area between the field area and the river banks, which is lower, flat but wdie, and partially hidden - except from people who are either on the river's edge or who are standing on the other side of the river. Summer's dwindling away slowly here. But the sunny days are no longer so humid; school's getting started so that brings out teams and athletic groups. Fortunately, we've had few typhoons (Pacific hurricanes) so far this season).

Instead of spending all summer abroad (US/Europe), I returned to JP and have had a few weeks off. Lucky for me, it means trips locally (by bike), into the big city (for the gay baths) or further away. Just minutes by bicycle from my house is a (usually) shallow river that has large flat flood-zone embankments which are used for recreation areas.

Where can a person get naked outdoors here in Asia. Generally, people answer that question simply and emphatically: You can't! However, there are actually several options - blatant dickflashing or exhibitionism - notwithstanding.

Where in Asian can a guy go to a nudist beach?
In Japan, there are only two places where guys (mostly gay men) go as a nude beach (one in Chiba, and the other is a deserted spot on Shonan Beach). Neither are well known by the general public partly because they are so hard to find, and far from Tokyo. Also, it's not like Black's Beach or ones in other Westernized countries, people get naked very discreetly even on a supposedly nude beach. They generally wear swimwear when walking around or when in the water, but remove their clothes while lying in the sun.
The next best thing to a nude beach then is a hot springs resort or a public bathing spa, the latter of which there are over 50 in Tokyo. In these, men and women have separate bathing areas.​
Often, there is a small outside areas (enclosed by a fence for privacy) where the naked men can soak in a pool of mineral waters or lounge naked or draped in a towel. Inside, there are various types of baths, but the men are usually totally naked when walking to and from each pool and when they sit on stools at individual showers for washing body and hair. Many of them have wet and dry saunas. So, despite their being little interest in nude beaches, Japanese are often fond of such warm mineral baths, and even travel to stay in the many areas of the country where there are nice resort hotels grouped around these hot springs, such as Hakone.


However, you don't have to go far from any metropolitan area to enjoy the same atmosphere of men enjoying being naked. Formerly, there were the old-fashioned public baths or 'sento' in every neighorhood, which have just about disappeared these days, being replaced by large, more modern and luxurious: bathing resort (or 'onsen' - hot springs bath or spa). The water has a higher content of minerals, particularly sodium (salt) and it's either brought in or created, but in sometimes comes naturally from the ground as Japan is a set of volcanic islands, also prone to earthquakes, as everyone knows.

Well... for those in Malaysia or Singapore, and other places where there are not naked places, you can do what I often do: Make your own nude beach by just getting naked where the general public cannot see (easily).




About my own free-based, public nude sunbathing...
I love being naked outdoors and often do so when there is a patch of land or a bushy area along side a river or a section of recreational land. If men are already sunbathing someplace, then just find a more hidden place in the same area and take it a step further: remove all your clothes and cover your privates. When no one is around, you can remove the covering.

In my trips to Thai, Singapore and Malaysia, I can recall a few places where this might happen, such as Sentosa Island, or a bit further afield - take a ferry or boat to one of the Indonesian islands not far from Singapore. There are surely some deserted beaches as well along Malaysia's southern coast, perhaps on Tioman Island (as there are plenty of foreigners), and also in East Malaysia (Sarawak), I was able to get naked inside the Bako National Park both inland and at any of many deserted beaches. Guides on individually hired boats can take you to a certain point, and pick you up later.

He undid his belt buckle, and unzipped. Pushing his jeans down his hips, he practically kicked them off since he was barefooted. Crossing the room, he shut the light and got into his bed, leaving the sheets off. Hands behind his head, he watched the fan turned. "Night Sam."


Sam watched Dean get undressed through squinted eyes, his brother moved so easily; Sam still felt like he was all arms and legs. The light turned off, he heard Dean’s bed creak and his goodnight. Sam ran through the evening in his mind, listening to Dean’s breathing from across the room. He couldn’t stop thinking about the way Dean’s mouth had felt when he had kissed him, it was softer than he thought it would be, his brother’s lips smoother, warmer. Sam shifted in bed, leaned up and held his breath to listen. Dean’s breathing was deep and even, he was sleeping.

The wise cracks about being irresistible and not having that problem died on his lips the instant his brother's gaze met his. "I don't know that there's a magic formula. I mean... it's trial and error. You just gotta," he sniffed, "you know, think there's nothing to lose. What's the worst that can happen? She says no, or maybe you get slapped." Okay, a crack slipped out, but it wasn't a bad one and it was the truth. "Some girls... you just know they're not gonna be prudes. As Dean's lips parted Sam felt a little jolt, it brought back memories of all those times he had watched Dean while he made out with some girl. He knew what Dean was talking about, well, some of it. Looking at Dean from under long dark lashes he gave him a weak grin. "I kinda liked it." Okay, that beer was going straight to his head.


"Hmmm? You got that far with her? And liked it?" He noticed that Sam had finished his drink, no wonder he wasn't making a hundred percent sense here. But hey, that meant he might share things he otherwise wouldn't. "So ... arm go around her? You know, when you were liking it." Dean bet that was code for getting a stiffy.

The problem was Dean. Dean made everything look easy. Sam had spent two weeks sneaking around behind Dean watching him kiss girls. After fourteen nights of watching, Sam had ended up with Poison Ivy on his ankle, a vague notion of how to kiss and a pretty constant hard on. He fell asleep thinking about how to kiss and he woke up thinking about it. He had been all set to launch his plan to kiss Bethia at school when Dad had told them to pack. Now, here they were in the middle of nowhere in a lakeside cabin. There was no TV, no cell reception, no electricity, no Bethia to kiss and every time Sam looked at his older brother he could only stare at his lips.

They were out on the porch. Dean was sitting in a rocking chair... a fucking rocking chair, swatting fucking mosquitoes, and staring off at the dark waters of the lake. It was so damned hot and sticky, he leaned forward and pulled his tee-shirt off, tossing it at Sam's face, grinning at the annoyed look Sammy shot him. "Get me beer." At least they were stocked.


Rolling his eyes Sam balled up the shirt and threw it on the floor, eyes gliding over Dean’s chest as he walked past. He made sure to slam to screen door behind him, grabbed two beers and went back out to the porch. He tapped the bottle against Dean’s shoulder and waited for his brother to say something about the beer he'd brought out for himself.

Dean turned and grabbed the bottle, then stared at the second one in Sam's hand. He looked up into Sam's face and could tell little bro expected him to put up a stink. Instead, he touched his bottle to Sam's and just said, "Drink it slow. I don't want to haul your drunk ass inside."


Sam grinned and sat down on the top step by Dean's feet. "It sucks here, Dean," he took a sip of beer, "it really sucks." Wiping his mouth he looked out over the lake. "How long did Dad say we had to be here?"

Shaking his head, Dean answered. "Beats the hell outta me. Tomorrow will be too late." He was about to go out of his mind with boredom. Knocking back

some of the beer, he swatted a mosquito and cursed. "This has got to be the worst place we've been, and we've been in plenty of dumps. Hope he gets done with whatever soon." Yeah, but when had he ever gotten back in less than a week? "If it weren't so hot that the cards would stick to my fingers, I'd teach you to play poker. And don't get started with you already know how... you gotta work on that poker face."


Sam shrugged and took another sip of beer. “So, Dean,” he cleared his throat, “there was this girl, you know, back in Camden.” He picked at the label on the beer bottle feeling his cheeks start to burn; scratched his nose then pushed his hair out of his eyes. “You know what? Never mind. Let's play poker - we're gonna go nuts if we sit here doing nothin'."

Studying Sam's profile, Dean started to smile. "Nah, let's not play poker. How about you tell me 'bout her. This girl in Camden." The silence didn't surprise Dean. "Did she have nice... you know," he motioned with his hands as he asked

whether she had a nice rack. That was sure to get Sam tripping over his tongue and get him talking.


“Jesus, Dean!” Sam put his beer down on the step beside him, thinking, remembering. “She did… I mean, I didn’t,” he closed his eyes for a moment, “yeah.” He grinned and looked at Dean out of the corner of his eye. “She was really pretty though, you know? Long black hair, real tiny,” he looked up at Dean, “she would have fit right under my arm.” He lifted his arm up almost unconsciously as if he could see her there. “Smelled really good too,” he muttered almost under his breath. He let out a big sigh and picked up the beer bottle again, taking a long drink.

"You sweet on a girl, Sammy?" He teased, but a sadness swept through him. He knew Sam had a tendency to take things to heart, and a need to make long term friends. When he said he liked a girl, it probably meant a big time crush. How often would he get to explore something like that for more than a blink of an eye? That was one of the reasons Dean had learned to move so quickly on a girl. If he did the old dating before kissing thing, he'd never get laid. "Should'a told me." Yeah, he'd have given his brother some tips... after he gave him some shit of course.

Things have gotten more daring on my part this month. A couple of times
​
recently I've gotten more bold.. like this morning. From the road, he would see
me something like this (photo attached). I realize it's very tame by comparison
(to other's extreme flashing - but HEY!.. we are NOT all made or built the same,
right?)

I'm standing in a pathway between grave plots about 7 meters from the main road that runs through the cemetery.
It's a straight wide (private) road with no
thru vehicle traffic - so I only have to be careful

Before taking up my position just off the road, I scout out downthe road to see if he's approaching and then take up my position

I know he does look my way at times .. but it's only when I'm 20-50 meters away. There is a large plaza (paved area) along the main road, where we sometimes cross paths at a much great distance. I notice then that he 'seems' to take a brief look .. but if I'm too close.. he averts his eyes or even turns his head.

Normally, people who live in a city don't know much about the hostels - you have to find travelers or backpackers who have. Sometimes regular traveler advice sites will have such info (because some people complain about the showers and bathroom etc). Also the hostels describe their own facilities well enough for you to figure out what might work.

I'm not a youth but I love staying at (youth) hostels. Today's hostels are not just for the under 26 backpacker. You can often choose from a variety of room types (including privates or double) along with bunk beds in dorms. Some regular hotels even offer 'hostel' type rooms - such as the Gershwin in New York City.
Clearly, some people think these budget accommodations / dorm-type rooms and shared baths should be called 'hostile' - like QueerAngel said - it can be uncomfortable Comfort is not the only reason to stay somewhere. But if comfort's what you need while on vacation, you probably wouldn't find it at most hostels. People who love the outdoors don't expect there to be comfort on a camping trip - so as I said staying in a hostel is a like indoor camping - group spirit, shared facilities, respect for individuality...

These other benefits of hosteling more than make up for the lack of comfort. Not to speak of the economy, I can stay 4 nights at a night (at least) for the price of one night in a 'comfortable' hotel. Each traveler is different and has different reasons and purposes for the trip. I am NOT trying to defend hostels or deny any traveler what's important for his / her trip, just asking you recognize that one style of vacation or one kind of hotel/accommodation would not suit everyone.

I've almost never found anyone with whom I could not communicate (although I might not have actually have wanted to communicate (grin). It's like boy scout camp or a sleep-over or a college party (without the noise - hopefully).


I enjoy the camaraderie that's generated when strangers esp. travelers (often single men and women) bunk together - it really is more like camping than a hotel stay - so it's not for everyone. But I really enjoy my stays because I fee free to be myself (more than when I'm home or at work). I feel comfortable being the 'gay' guy who is older, wiser, and knowledgeable, and friendly.

I'm not getting 'hit' on by my roomies and wouldn't really want that (at least on the surface). I just enjoy getting to know people, talking, and sometimes getting to see them live their lives in front of me. Sometimes there is 'sexual' attraction - but typically it's not mutual. Still.. my hostel roommates once all went skinny dipping at the local public beach late one night. (4 men and 2 women).


The stay is really what you make out of it.. it can be unfriendly and lonely but normally if you open up to the idea and the possibilities, it can be a great time well spent. Sometimes you make a lot of friends because the group just congeals.


I have written about my 'hostel' stays in my blogs. There is never really anything 'hot' - no sex in the hostel room - but I have certainly had some great fun and got to hang out with some sexy guys and sometimes been naked together.

I recently spent a week at a hostel and stayed in a 12 bed room with bathroom (3 shower stalls + 3 toilet stalls) attached. I sleep naked, and in the middle of the night I'd just walk naked (and usually hard) to the bathroom, since nobody would be awake. On a few occasions, when I opened to enter/leave, somebody would be on the other side, and they'd see me with my boner and nothing to hide it with. The first time I tried (unsuccessfully) to hide my erect cock and balls with my hands, but the later times I just casually let it hang out as I walked past. One guy commented "nice dick" and laughed, and I explained I thought nobody would be up at this hour. Considering how late it was and how many times guys saw me, I think at least one of these encounters in the bathroom was not just a coincidence, maybe some were curious to see something too lol. Lot of great memories in that hostel.

It's one of my loves too - traveling by staying in hostels exactly because it's fun to see nude guys and be naked with them (CMNM is my passion). However, there are not too many hostels left with communal showers. It's much the same for most any 'newer' or modern gym, sports club, campgrounds, etc. When they renovate, the management decides it's easier/wiser to put in closed, individual showers - instead of communal ones.


Generator Hostel London is centrally located in Russell Square. There are showers on every floor (separate men and women's) but they aren't really open or communal - although they have just curtains which you can leave open (or partly open) with a common changing area. I stayed in a basement floor room with 20 bunk beds. So I was able to see and be seen a bit even in the room since there are so many people (coming in at all time and hours) - actually, it was not very nice for sleepy but very cheap and in a good location in central London; they also had a lot of amenities / perks for backpackers but it was very large and crowded (even on March 20-21). I slept nude the time I was there and got out of bed naked to pull on shorts to go out into the hall. Once my ass was sticking out from the blanket/sheet so my bunk mates could be heard sneaking a photo of my naked butt.

What might be more fun - although the prices are cheap is to stay in one of New York City's YMCA recreation hotels. If you get a room, you can use the gym, pool, locker room and sauna/steam room freely as a guest. There is plenty of nudity because local men join the YMCA as a health and fitness club so they come there after (or before) work. The West Side YMCA is near 6th Ave and Broadway so it's very convenient.


I haven't tried any other hostels in NYC.

I agree with Nakedmatt--being naked outdoors is the best--and with other naked guys is awesome. Doesn't have to be a sexual thing (can be if you want), but just a bonding thing. I'm going to Hillside campgrounds next weekend--I plan on being naked all weekend long! Can't wait!

Love hanging out at the beach nude, nude holiday resorts are great. Like camping/hiking nude. Just walking in the door and dropping the clothes is a natural thing unless I "have" to put clothes on for company/guests....:)

Love just kiking back naked. Used to hit a beach / campground near Santa Cruz many times till is closed a couple years ago. This pic, I believe, is from one of our last trips. Man that was a GREAT trip.

Everybody thinks that and its natural and shouldn't be anything to worry about. As you get used to doing it (hanging naked non-solo) you'll become more comfortable and it will not be the problem or issue you think.

If you meet guys into it randomly on-line the experience is apt to be more sexual so.. I resisted going to naked things for the same reasons. Guess what it really wasn't an issue. (notice I didn't say a "big deal") LOL, Enjoy!
