Super Saturday: Bernie Wins Kansas, likely to win Nebraska

mathematically true .......... but did you know that Kansas has correctly picked the correct Democratic primary winner the past 50 years ?

so actually Hillary is done !!! LOL

the race goes on despite the "gay progressives for Hillary" movement suggesting otherwise

and despite Debbie Wasserman Schultz's transparent efforts to stop it

I don't understand the Sanders' fans. Hillary will win the nomination. She has 200 pledged delegates more and no one has ever come back from a 100 or more difference. All states are proportionally distributed for the democrats.

So why do you take way more time to besmirch the democrat candidate than the republican ones ? Do you all really want more Trump or Cruz as the next US president ?

besmirch ?

damage the reputation of (someone or something) in the opinion of others.
"he had besmirched the good name of his family"
synonyms: sully, tarnish, blacken, drag through the mud/mire, stain, taint, smear, disgrace, dishonor, bring discredit to, damage, debase, ruin;

Bernie is running for all those who have no voice - those who candidates ignore at the expense of their wealthier supporters

Hillary deserves to be challenged - to be pushed - to be forced

to do the right thing

that's one

two is the fact that Bernie polls better against Republican potential opponents so the common wisdom that Bernie is unelectable as a concept is plain old bullshit

three is the fact that shit can happen - and why anoint Hills now ? what if her email thing blows up ? what if we find out that in fact she has Mitt Romney like comments to her Goldman Sachs buddies that lavished her with 650k for three speeches

there is in fact NO RUSH

Because you don't have any other system of democracy where allies get to destroy each other in such a dramatic fashion.

Bernie needs 1901 of the remaining 3156 delegates. He isn't favored to win any of the largest states or any state with a black population over 5%.

Bernie cannot merely beat Hillary going forward; he must crush her. Not impossible, but it is very very unlikely.

agreed that is VERY unlikely - he'd need for one blacks to reconsider their Hillary crush and can't see that happening - Bernie's team hopes that northern blacks - more urban areas - might look at the situation different - but it doesn't appear to be in the cards

that said, it's not an all or nothing thing as it relates to influence

I was teasing about the Kansas thing - someone posted it on FB and it made me smile

my guess is the hit jobs that David Brock and others have done on Bernie will cease or at least diminish

As much as I hate to admit it - and I'll still definitely vote for Bernie in the primary here - I KNEW that the writing was on the wall, indelibly, when Bernie lost MASSACHUSETTS.

And nothing short of certain and guaranteed death will prevent me from voting for Hillary in November, either, even though I feel no affinity toward her whatsoever.

I will basically be casting a neutral vote (i.e. status quo), but a neutral/status quo vote is far better than NOT making that vote, or voting for the death of the United States as any semblance of a free country.

yeah that was the killer

MA is faux progressive - home of John Kerry, the Kennedys, etc. - establishment in CAPS

so frankly it was a long shot - it was Hills with her best white support

that's ok Frank if that's how it goes

Hills will learn and understand that if she wants people to go to the polls in November she'll have to step up

otherwise she'll just be another Mitt Romney - failure in getting the nom followed by general election fail

But we also need racial minorities to flock to the polls. Hillary has their enthusiasm whether one likes it or not. I do think it is a little bizarre given Bernie's record, but I think that's because he isn't well known. Unfortunately, Bernie doesn't have the benefit of time.

oh yeah but Hills isn't going to turn off blacks by being more progressive ......... I don't think she loses ground there

my guess is unlike Romney who couldn't straddle ........ she can

but knowing how far to go to insure Bernie fans vote w/o turning off mods is the trick

yeah it's funny how such a long process just got a whole lot shorter after Super Tuesday

guessing Bernie's peeps figured Killer Mike, meeting with Al Sharpton, Ben Jealous support, Cornel West and others would eat into Hills black support - it didn't

It appears as though Al Sharpton criticized him.

Rev. Al Sharpton, who met with Sanders Wednesday in Harlem, also pushed back on Sanders' laser-sharp focus on income inequality. He called it "a monolith."

"One of the things I was saying to Sen. Sanders is saying that we got to deal with income equality and wages is fine but what about the race element of that? Because even in that there's not a monolith. There's racism involved," Sharpton said in a Thursday appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "He did not address that directly. That's what I was pressing him on."

John Lewis On Sanders' Civil Rights Record: 'I Never Saw Him'

^ hadn't read that - I thought meeting with Sharpton was a mistake frankly and posted it here

When you're that far behind sometimes you do things you wouldn't normally do

Improving minimum wage, providing single payer and other policies are designed to help those who have none/less thus blacks would benefit greatly just as policies that limit those two things effect them negatively

Sharpton is not a good dude and i guess was looking for something "special"

which is bad faith

iMO Bernie has been quite vocal about BLM and more critical of police work than Hillary - this is in Al's wheelhouse

But at this point my guess is he's not willing to buck the 85% of blacks that are with Hills especially if he thinks Bernie can't get elected

As for John Lewis - he's apologized for his outrageous remarks

Hillary will be the nom. Get over it people.

I voted for Bernie and like him better too but it's not going to happen (unless Hillary admits that she is the devil incarnate in tonight's debate).

Bernie wins the states he wins narrowly, with Hillary getting almost as many delegates. When Hillary wins she blows him away and gets FAR more delegates.

His campaign will be decisively destroyed on March 15 barring a miracle.

I tend to read the whole book instead of going to the end

even if I'm sorta sure what's gonna happen

it's better that way

I appreciate the wide eyed wonder of it all.

As I've been noting for months though, it doesn't matter how it turns out, Bernie has won.

He has turned attention to his issues and ideas.

The Democrats are taking these on board.

doest matter if bernie or hillary get the nomination, without a real progressive on the ballot against trump or cruz the democrats will lose 50-70% of the independant vote and will have weak democratic support. people in hillary land will make up excuses for their candidates weakness that its hillarys opponents when it has nothing to do with hillary and everything to do with the electorate mood.

dems cant soley rely on lations and blacks to carry them every time, and its not a popular vote either. if the gop can sway enough of actual voters, not establishment democrats who they will never convince they have a shot at winning.

i am consistently astonished by the establishment democrats who want to play this election like its obama's 3rd term. they just were not around or not paying attention when democrats lost every mid term not for being too liberal, but because they were not liberal enough and they ran away from obama in 2014. establishment dems are mostly uneducated cowards who are afraid to support actual progressive candidates, and will most certainly find someone else to blame when HRC cant unite democrats and cant appeal to independents. if hillary people want unity, HRC needs to drop out the race before its too late.

HRC only won't be able to unite Democrats if idiotic Bernie supporters refuse to vote for her and actually think we would be better off letting the R nutcase win.

Providing ultimatums doesn't sound particularly democratic, it just sounds like another tea party. Sander's supporters would be better off pushing his policy than threatening other democrats.
