I suspect that it was just that one customer, since she says they were pointing at her in the store earlier. I think they singled her out.

A customer at an Albuquerque supermarket insisted last week that there was something gross in a yogurt sample an employee gave her while she was shopping.

Turns out she was right.

An Albuquerque police source said a Greek yogurt sample a Sunflower Market employee handed a customer was tainted with semen.

unacceptable to say the very least, and to say that anyone who has ever worked in retail will understand why this person did this is outrageous. to insinuate that there is any rational reason a person would do this is beyond my understanding.

Herein lies the problem: You don't have a problem with it. YOU. That doesn't mean it ever makes it okay to do something as disgusting or vile as spitting or in this case, putting semen in someone's yogurt.

I couldn't help but laugh at the woman telling the police that it tasted like semen. Not only does she know what semen tastes like, but she knows it well enough to be able to pick it out of a sample of yogurt that undoubtedly had a lot of other flavors in it.

That said, it is appalling. Although, the article said the guy was arrested on child molestation charges, so, I guess he has a few issues.

How horrible for the store. A scandal like that could cause a store to close. Sunflower has a loyal following, and for pretty good reason.

I don't see the local news, so I had not heard of it until now.

My high school years were spent working in a retail department store. I'm not sure why folks act like they are Joan of Arc for doing so. It isn't horrible; most people are decent, and lots of profession and jobs have to deal with difficult people from time to time.

I always enjoyed waiting on people, and I was only a lowly stock clerk.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the store will be happy to help the police track down the employee(s) responsible. It won't take any torture, just a cotton swab inside the mouth to collect saliva. The other employees will be glad to help, as none of them want their business to fold because of this cowardly act. None of them will be jumping to protect this guy.



This isn't TV hype, Sloppy. The police have already verified that it was semen.

Thats really nasty. I understand that some people get fed up with customers, but chances are, that lady did nothing and the guy was mad at other customers. If you can't handle annoying customers, you shouldn't work in retail. Period. Not sure how they would prove it, but if he did do it, he needs to go to jail.
