Survivor 20: Heroes Vs. Villains [Official Thread]

I feel like the villains are going to be more efficient, the whole tribe seems more agressive strategically.

I dont see Sugar, Candice, Tom, Cirie, JT or James as Power players...

Cirie is probably Survivor's most strategically sound female ever. In Exile Island alone she managed to pull off one of the most impressive moves of the show when she got Courtney Marit eliminated in a 3-2-1 vote. Then she played a vital role in getting somebody to give up his own immunity necklace in Micronesia. Cirie is the type of person who could go on the show 10 times and probably make the merge seven or eight times.

Actually, I only really agree with you about Sugar and James. Sugar played emotionally and to be popular with the fans while James was just an idiot. Meanwhile, Tom and JT had other contestants actively playing to help the two of them win.

I couldn't agree with you more! She's easily my favorite Survivor player of all time, and unlike Russell, she actually deserves all the praise she doesn't get.

How can you not see Cirie or Tom as power players? Cirie is arguably the best strategic and social player and Tom completely controlled Palau.

Well its true for cirie but coming to Survivor HVSV she's going to be against strong players...
In her seasons she was a power player, I don't feel she's going to be that pwerful in that season.. It's just a feeling lol ;)

JT went to the final thanks to Taj & Stephen mostly. Stepehen took the risks and without taj's immunity idol he wouldnt be there... so i dont consider him as power player

SUgar was just being sweet

James is a stupid guy

Candice is really not agressive enough to play this game

and Tom, well same thing, With this season's cast, I dont feel like he is going to be a power player.

But it's the same on the other team:I don't feel Coach, Randy, Jerri or Courtney to be powa players

But again, it's just based on feelings, I respect their gameplays, and love em all. Like I said I m rootin for JT or sugar for example. I like cirie and I liked tom just like everybody problly...

To me based on that cast i feel like Russell, Parvati, Sandra & Rupert are going to be the strongest ones this season. I might be mistaken

Completely agree. Players trusted Tom and Cirie and never tried to blindside them (when that's exactly what their tribemates should've done!).

Looking at the players on paper, I don't follow. There are like four or five different contestants from Micronesia, on which Cirie did well, and she's on a tribe with two of the others. She also has some wiggle room because Sugar's nearly as much of a challenge liability.

Not really. JT was never a target on Jalapao, and after the merge, many of the Timbira tribemates were playing for JT to win. Brendan (and therefore Sierra since she did everything Brendan did), Coach and Debbie all would have thrown away their games in favor of JT's and that's a major reason why he not only won but played the first perfect game in history of the show. (Perfect game meaning he never got any votes AND made a clean sweep at FTC.)

And I love Taj, but the only thing she had all season was the Exile Island alliance. After that, she let Stephen and JT do everything.

Candice is really not agressive enough to play this game
Candice made the most aggressive move in Cook Islands when she chose to abandon Aitu. Unfortunately for her, it backfired.

Yeah I get it

i see how you think they're power players. Lookin at their social game, so yeah you're right.

To me I was more thinking "global": Challenges, strategic moves alliances or capacity to be smart from the get go.

I would agree on cirie, but still I dont feel thats going to be her season

and from my perspective JT had a good social game because he's nice, but he mostly stayed under the radar and was nice with everybody. I mean he's like that, he didnt "play" a game, "act" or "thought" about his strategic moves (he allined with stephen coz he got along with him) see what I mean ?

I do get what you sayin, and I do agree they're good.

I love Cirie but it doesn't matter how many seasons she appears on, I would try to get rid of her quickly (her competitors love her and she'd beat you handily in the final).

^^ Well she seems to have a big target on her back, from the pregame interviews I have seen and read, many people are gunning for her so hopefully she will be able to work her magic and make it far. Boston Rob also has a target on his back, there are a couple of people going after him, one of them being Russell. The Micronesia "alliance" (James, Amanda, Parvati, and Cirie) was mentioned many times among other cast members as being threats and wanting to break them up before the merge.

Cirie probably has the biggest target because of her gameplay and because she is being grouped in the Micronesia alliance.

IMO it doesn't matter what alliance or tribe Cirie is a part of. She has the social game to win the million dollars. Tina, the first eliminated from Panama Exile Island, was the only person to say anything negative about Cirie and it wasn't even damaging (Cirie hates leaves). Cirie's likability alone is why she should be targeted immediately.

I'd be shocked if Cirie -- the best player this game has ever seen -- isn't eliminated in the first few weeks. If she even makes it to the merge, her competitors are absolute morons. She's worked her magic TWICE. These people should know better.

My replies to his commentary, in order:

-Tom: ME! I HATED TOM! I WISH "HE HADN'T OF" WON PALAU! Next time don't speak for everybody on Earth, dumbass.

-Candice: How in this universe can Candice betraying her entire tribe be described as "heroic"? Way to grasp at straws to justify why she's back. If casual fans even remember Candice, they remember her as the bitch who mutinied. That's hardly a heroine.

-Steph: "Stephenie merged with the other tribe and STILL stayed alive until DEEP into the show!" Oh, come on. She survived TWO Tribal Councils at Koror because Coby was an idiot and Probst himself talked Janu into quitting.

-JT: His analogy between Tom/Ian and JT/Stephen wasn't even right. Tom totally mindfucked Ian into QUITTING on the spot while JT brought Stephen to the end and kicked his ass.

-Sandra: "Sandra is a quiet villain, but Sandra is for sure a villain." Then maybe the Pearl Islands editors shouldn't have given her such a positive edit. She was in a tight alliance with the biggest hero ever, don't kid yourself.

-Parvati: "Parvati engineered one of the greatest female alliances ever... in my book Parvati is a villain in this game." Oh, but Amanda, her ALLIANCE-MATE, was almost the "greatest female hero ever"?

-Jerri: "Even though she's on the villains tribe, I think she wants to play more heroic." But Jerri had just said herself that she would do whatever it takes and that she wouldn't stick to one alliance. Isn't that why you just called Sandra a villain? Are you even paying attention to the words coming out of their mouths? (Probably not because Sandra and Jerri aren't manly men.)

-Danielle: "And then she betrayed [Terry] and voted him out and cost him a million bucks." Oh, so Danielle is a villain because she crushed the dreams of one of Probst's fuck buddies, I see. Great justification.

-Coach: "He's entertaining as hell." I'm not even going to waste quality wit on this.

-Closing statement: "If you're not happy with this group, then you're not a Survivor fan."

Oh my word, I wish I could punch him in the face. But what do I know, I wanted Natalie to beat OMG STRATEGIC MASTERMIND AND BITTER JURY VICTIM RUSSELL HANTZ!1!!

Jeff Probst always has been -- and always will be -- a giant butt nugget.

Actually, Jeff, it's because I AM a TRUE Survivor fan that I'm UNHAPPY that you guys brought back useless and uninteresting James, Danielle and Candice. At least useless Courtney is entertaining (we can count on her for stupid confessionals with some bite).

Probst has always been a hyperverbal moron.

Yep and intrusive, too. Just host, Jeff. Don't intervene and influence!

I'm loving seeing the old school survivors on last night's reunion. See pics here: http://www.survivorsucks.com/topic/63114?page=24

Thanks! Good to see Cindy (Guatemala) because now I see that she really is the twin sister of Mindy (Rock of Love 3). No photo of Charlie and Marcus together. Too bad. Lol

I wonder if all the "villains" knew they were going to be villains when CBS asked them to return for this all-stars. I bet they just sign-up for all-stars, and when they showed up Jeff told them the news and divided the heroes and villains. That would have been a kick in the pants to the "villains" who don't consider themselves as one. It's all relative.

What's bad about this one is that both the "heroes" and "villains" will feel obligated to act their part. Key word "act."

That's what happened according to Jeff =)
