Survivor 20: Heroes Vs. Villains [Official Thread]

and it's awful to see him lose against Russell just because CBS probably gave payola to Tyson to be an idiot last week.

This is my suspicion too. I mean SO MUCH of last week doesn't make sense. That means Russell knew that the votes were gonna be split, he knew exactly who was voting for who (OK Tyson probably told him but still, Russell believed it enough to risk giving Parvati his idol??) and he was able to persuade Tyson then to do something that made absolutely no sense. And then this week -- after trying to get Russell/Parvati out last week, and hating Parvati for most of the game -- Jeri suddenly has a huge change of heart and wants to be on Team Russell even though she'll be in exactly the same position she was originally with Team Rob?! All of that together with all the idols Russell found last season just makes this whole show seem suspect. The guy is just....too lucky.

Boston Rob going instead of Russell was the final nail in the coffin. This series has lost almost all its original appeal for me, and I haven't truly enjoyed it in quite a few seasons. I won't mind one bit if they decide to end the show sometime soon.

Best part of the night for me was seeing that Big Brother 12 casting call commercial! Now there's a series that has at least been satisfying the past two years.

Oh I forgot to add: second best part of the night was Courtney calling Russell a horrid little unwashed troll who was swooning over Parvati (who in turn was just using him). I wish there was constant footage of Courtney and Sandra bad-mouthing Russell each week. It would make every episode more tolerable, and it would reassure me that -- just like last season -- he's too unlikable to actually win a jury vote.

I think Tyson said in his post show interviews that he did tell Russell how the votes were going which is why Russell was so confident in giving Parvati the idol. Of course the editors decided not to show us that because they want to keep up the pretense that Russell is some amazing player .

I was unfortunately spoiled as to who the final three is, so I knew Rob would be going before then, but I didn't want it to be this soon. It's funny how the entire season was hyping up the Russell vs. Rob showdown, and in the end it was Jerri that sent Rob packing and not Russell. Wait until next week when Russell boasts to the cameras about how great he is and how he was responsible for getting Rob out.

That courtney confessional was sooo fantastic! I hate that it's becoming The Russel Show again. I just hope that Court and Sandra will make it to the merge where they'll have a chance to get some airtime.

BTW, I def prefer the villains over the boring heroes, but Candice keeps surprising me with her awesomeness. There's an "Insider Clip" on the CBS website of a scene where she calls Amanda "a skanky little ho."

Jerry is a petty little thing. The first all-stars her entire focus was getting back at Colby and it was this really weird one sided vendetta where she HATED him and he didn't seem to care about her at all. Her short sighted play then got her chopped by Rob. I'm sure she was carrying some of that in her. Regardless no one is playing that great of a game and I feel like I only have Court to cheer for at this point, and COlby to a lesser extent but he's still riding off the fumes of my enjoyment of him seasons ago.

I want to ask about Jerri: She seems like she's had emotional trauma. Or at the very least, a sadness.

Does anybody know, or have heard of, anything?

Sucks about Boston Rob. I knew he was going tonight because I was spoiled, but he was still my favorite guy on this season BY FAR, and it's awful to see him lose against Russell just because CBS probably gave payola to Tyson to be an idiot last week. I'm still alright with this season because Jerri, Courtney and Sandra are still around though. It was about time Courtney got a confessional slamming Russell. And next week Sandra looks like she's going to get LOUD finally so I have something to anticipate. <3

I agree with both of you. The Tyson vote change, the sudden appearance of chickens, Russell knowing the vote split...lead me to believe that things are NOT on the up and up. CBS wants Russell to last and will intervene to accomplish it. We'll see if these "coincidences" continue...

I agree with you guys. It has become terribly apparent that the producers are manipulating the show. I mean, to be fair, it would be way less interesting without a clear-cut villain like Russell at the helm. It drives me crazy though, because the concept of the show is completely compromised. If Tyson is in on it, that means the whole cast is in on it. His leaving indirectly lead to Boston Rob's demise, meaning that Rob has to have been paid off in some way as well, or if not, has many rights to take issue with CBS later on. I'll be SHOCKED to see Russell kicked out before the finals, though I'll be equally shocked if he actually wins it. I think his season was great, because it was all based around him, but finally he didn't end up with the prize.

This brings me to another point. Russell is not the best player to have played the game. It drives me nuts to hear people, and him, make this claim. The game (when not manipulated) is set up so that the best player wins. Sure the winner from last season might not have been responsible for so many people leaving, and he might have done the dirty work, but she was smart enough to team up with the player that did, and he was stupid enough to bring her to the end.

To this extent, the producers should lay off. If Russell is the best player, then he'll figure things out and win the game. Fact is, he played his season so rough and tumble, and made so many enemies, that his reputation precedes him (much in the same way that Richard Hatch's did in his All-Star season). If he gets kicked off, there is a reason behind it.

I want desperately to boycott the show because it is getting so frustrating. But ultimately, the show is still entertaining, and hopefully the producers are smart enough to manipulate a good ending, where Russell gets his comeuppance by someone he has slighted in the past. Fingers crossed.

Thats SUCKS !!!

thtats all I have to say ;)

Go Jerri !!!! Go sandra !!!

Goddamnit! I didn't get nearly enough of Rob this season. Meh. I was pro Jerri until she did what she did. And WTF Coach? You might as well have not voted at all. I loved Rob deflecting Coach's hug and saying "You're a little man". Ha! I'm not looking forward to hearing Russell gloat about the vote on this week's episode. :(

So annoying. Coach is such a bitch, just pick a side and quit giving your word to everyone because then you are "forced" to make a dumb ass vote. Wished Rob had made it to the merge at least.

Promo for next episode:

Can't wait to see Sandra vs. Hobbit

I'm actually watching this season and quite enjoying it, although I don't have one survivor season to compare it to as this is my first.

I just fucking hate everyone you guys, except maybe for a select few. I want everyone to fall and smack their faces like that scarecrow chick did when Rupert tackled her in a challenge. By the way, did you know that Rupert is actually magically Hagrid from Harry Potter? I bet you didn't!

Right now I'm rooting for the solid 5 hero's group because I think their little pack will be solid and they'll push through the crowd of villains. If there's anyone I'm cheering for on the villains side it's scarecrow (Jerry?) but even she seems flighty at times.

You'll know who I probably demise through my track record of Big Brother: Russell, Coach, Tyson, who is not still awesome as he puts it in his exit interview, and Colby.

If I had to pick a single individual to root for then it's Team Pavarti all the way.

I hope next week has a lot of Sandra, she has been ignored way too much and she is so much more entertaining than Russell. I'm getting Pearl Islands vibes from that promo, I can't wait for Sandra to get LOUD.

Sandra's a riot! Speaking of her, don't you think its unusual that we haven't heard any of the castaways talk about "Getting rid of the winners first" similar to how things transpired during the All-Stars season?

That's what I think (that the entire cast is on it) and the total prize money is being divvied up evenly among the 20 players. Russell's exiting to watch (on many levels) but his social games sucks. You can be opinionated but you need to walk the fine line of making them still respect you even if you were responsible for their exit.

I noticed that, too! On the first All-Stars, Richard and Tina were instant targets. There's no way I'd help Parvati and Sandra win another million!!

On All Stars Jenna Lewis was responsible starting the "get rid of winners early" strategy, she felt they shouldn't get close to the million again. The people this season don't seem to care how far a winner goes.

I don't think the show is as rigged as some of you think, I think it's kind of ridiculous to think that Tyson got paid and the entire cast shares the million dollars.

Tyson was booted due to his own stupidity.

Yeah too much sandra against means...

Sandra out next ... Pschhhh

I hope they target Sandra and Parvati. I like them both but they've won already so they should go IMO. :)

Understood. To what degree do you think that it is rigged?
