Survivor 21: Nicaragua

Should be interesting...hopefully the young won't dominate all the physical challenges.

A couple hotties this year. Ben, Chase, and maybe Jud (His pic isn't that great).

Edit - I take that back about Jud. Used to be a model, and pics are hot

Btw, it is rumored that Season 22 will put Rob Mariano against Russell H

I wonder how the challenges will go and how they might design them to be a little more even.

ehehehehe

Hopefully this season is going to be good.
Im not feeling the cast at all tho :(

Damn...I didn't even realize. But Jimmy Johnson is on this cast. For those of you who don't follow sports at all, he was the coach of Dallas Cowboys. I love this guy. Should be interesting to see his personality on this show.

This format seems like it gives the youthfully challenged people a more fighting chance. That is, if they can win challenges and not have to vote off their own. I'm sure CBS will somehow balance the physical challenges giving them a fighting chance.

Although I wish they would just do a normal survivor. What's next season, crack whores vs. Jesus freaks? Democrats vs. Republicans? Whites vs. Blacks? Handicapped vs. athletes? Ugly people vs. super models? I can't wait.

The challenges are more balanced. Also, they introduced the Medallion of Power. If a tribe uses it, they have an advantage in the challenge, after it's used, it goes to the other tribe and so on, I think.

I think the age thing is an unnecessary gimmick, but I'll still give it a chance.

I hope it is better than Big Brother this season, which wouldn't take much.

Although I wish they would just do a normal survivor.

We just got two seasons of that in 2009. And they both sucked. Granted, Samoa didn't have to be bad, but they focused on Russell at the expensive of almost everybody else, including the winner, because he was on Heroes vs. Villains. But Tocantins was a total snore and it was a completely "normal" season.

Besides, I'll take a young vs. old-themed season if it means we get fewer California mactor robots than usual.

And, of course, the best thing about this season is that there's NO RUSSELL. :gogirl:

I'm looking forward to this, the cast looks promising and the theme is interesting. It can't be worse then Big Brother 12.

I have a confession to make. I watch survivor for the hot guys and hot girls. I know I know... what a shallow guy! This year, they decided to make it young vs old. While some old people can look hot, if they are below 50, I'm not that happy about this.

But I will be one of the main people writing on this thread once Survivor starts. Get ready before the games begin. 15 more days to go. CANT WAIT!

Old vs Young???

Please. No need to merge tribes mid season, Jeff, one won't exist anymore.

Reminder: the show begins this WEDNESDAY (no longer on Thursdays) at 8:00 EST.

Okay, just because it's young vs. old, that doesn't mean the young tribe is automatically going to win.

I know Survivor: Thailand is not a particularly popular season but, except for one member each, it essentially boiled down to an old tribe (Chuay Gahn) versus a young tribe (Sook Jai). How did Thailand end? Chuay Gahn completely Pagonged Sook Jai, leaving only older people as the final five.

The young tribe already looks like they don't have two brain cells to rub together between all eight of them, so I won't be surprised to see a repeat of Thailand, in which Sook Jai's complete lack of intelligence nullified their challenge prowess and doomed the tribe.

Well this season is bound to be puzzle heavy in teh group competitions. They're not going to give them hardcore tacklign and strength comps but it's also notable to know that "old" in this case includes perfectly health 40 year olds who have on some seasons been the strongest competitors overall. It's more than possible for a tribe of middle aged people to out compete a bunch of models who only ever use their muscles at the gym.

I watched the preview show and they confirmed that the challenges will be more mental than physical to (try) to make it more fair. And there will fewer, if any, challenges that involve swimming. I'm not sure I like this format, where they have to give handicaps to balance out the competitions.

CBS is so damn stupid. Survivor premieres should be 2 hours always. You need an hour just to see shots of the beautiful scenery. That's half the fun of the scenery for me. Big Brother should not be 2. It's should be 20 minutes to cap off this pitiful season.

But Tocantins was a total snore and it was a completely "normal" season.

I don't mind the Old vs. Young theme but the Medallion of Power twist had me rolling my eyes, even without knowing the particulars. Too many "powers" ruins the game; I like the immunity idol twist for example, but I don't like that lately there's been a dozen of them floating around.
