Survivor 22: Redemption Island

Rob is very smuggy this season but no way is he as awful a person as Russell (no one is, not even Coach or Phillip). Plus at least Rob's smugness is justified -- he's actually playing a really good game for himself. Russell's self-and-Probst-proclaimed "best player ever" title by comparison was completely unearned. He's a terrible player.
 
And hey, Rob might as well be smug and have fun with the braindead pawns that were cast since CBS is throwing money at him to play Survivor over and over.
 
The edit seems to be setting up Rob for a fall, kind of like how the edit set up Brenda for a fall last season. We have been reminded multiple times that Zapatera wants him out, and Phillip and Andrea want him out, it's only a matter of time until they make their move. Plus factor in the RI returnee, if Rob is in the game they will no doubt blame him for their getting voted out and try to get him out. I think Rob will be out at the final five or four, just missing the finals.

I think so too. My hunch is Rob will be ousted before the finals.
 
Looking back on Survivor Palau - the biggest mistake the Koror tribe made was not voting out Tom when Ian won immunity. They were so gung ho in getting Steph out that they fucked themselves, especially Ian, out of the win.
 
So, if I call Phil crazy right now, would that be considered racist?

Jeff Probst talked the racial thing so long and hard that he talked them out of voting Phil out. And lunatic would be a better term for that sack of shit.

When did Jeff ever ask someone whether they did something like Julie did? She should never have admitted it, but must have felt compelled because Jeff asked. HoHo came clean because she felt guilty.

And that Zap had all the rice should not have been an issue since they are locked out of the good shelter. That situation is so ridiculous. It was devine intervention that Om got bugs in their rice. How great was that?
 
Sick of the Rob show, and sick of Phillip's zaniness. Didn't want to call him the "c" word because that would equate to the "n" word.

Tonight's episode was very disappointing. Mike did not take his shirt off for the Redemption Island challenge :lol:
 
The first thing I noticed when I rewatched the episode is that the recap specifically included the shot of Francesca calling Phil a crazy person from earlier in the season.

Also, if Matt wins this season, I will have no problems calling him the worst Survivor winner EVER. He's already been voted out twice and he's still alive on Redemption Island despite coming in second in the last duel. UGH. The sad thing is, if he stumbles his way into a Final 3 with Philip and Natalie or Ashley, he COULD win in that scenario because Philip is the ultimate goat and the girls are lazy coattail riders. I am so tired of hearing "God wants this, God wants that" spewing from his mouth every episode.
 
Weird. Phillip made a lot of points that were surprisingly astute on race issues (and invoked the brilliance of Richard Pryor!) and would be true in many other circumstances, but not this time because Phillip is actually batshit crazy! Steve's comment had nothing to do with race and everything to do with the fact that Phillip has been a pain in the ass weirdo since day one.

And the Ometepe tribe has no right to expect Zapatera to act all "One Tribe" with the rice when the former claimed they were still two tribes, refused to integrate with the latter, and even went so far as to not share their tarp etc. Of course, if I were Zapatera, and Ometepe came to me with that rice request, I'd have been all, "Sure you can do it...if you all vote out Phillip."

I really wish Phillip had gotten the boot tonight. David deserves to spend a few days alone with him.

Word to everything you said! I can't stand Matt. He's been given way too many chances to re-enter the game for someone who's such a bad player. I really hope Mike kicks his ass and boots him from the game permanently. Yet another reason why I don't like the Redemption Island twist.

And how the hell is Matt a Med student?? He's a complete moron as evidenced by the previews where he said, "God is literally carrying me." Um, no dumbass. Unless God actually came down from the heavens and slung you over his shoulder, there's nothing "literal" there.

Matt's only a few degrees less crazy than Phillip.
