Survivor 27: Blood vs. Water

They didn't say that Redemption was different this season but I hope that it will be. RI and South Pacific had 18 players while this season has twenty, so they're going to have to change something up to fit the show's TV schedule with those two extra players.
 
Probst's rewriting of what just happened in front of our eyes is astounding this season. Even for him. NPR already called him out for his sexism during the Culpepper/Candice exchange, and now last night he was all, "Hayden would've traded places with Kat" even though it was blatantly clear that Hayden had no intention of doing so.

This is not a knock on Hayden mind you. It's a game. He is playing it well and Kat is a moron who can't possibly win. It made all the sense in the world for Hayden to stay put. But it was hilarious watching Kat be all, "Take my place! Hug me! Please don't dump me because of this! Could I possibly be more insecure and needy in our relationship?" and Hayden was all, "Whoa, let's back this shit up crazy-lady."

He basically telegraphed to her that he didn't want to switch places and then to save face, and assuage her own fragile ego, Kat played along like it was ultimately her decision not to switch. It was so awkward to watch, and yet to true of relationships where one person is stable and has all the power, and the other person is a big old mess from the M to the S. It's one thing though for Kat to rewrite that scenario in her head, but it's quite another for Probst to also rewrite it, announcing to the viewers that Hayden was gonna take one for his woman but then backed down because they both knew he had a better shot at winning. Please.

God bless the editors for at least letting us see enough to know that's not how it went down.
 
All I gotta say is thank you challenge designers for making the challenge that decides the returnee one that plays to Laura Morett's physical build. John has been a whole lot of nothing without Candice, and Laura B., despite being a hilariously socially awkward mess, is still the inferior Laura.

Also, Tina is still faker than her withered blonde hair and breast implants. "God bless Laura B. who I am planning on blind siding tonight! Why yes, Jeff, I'm just here to make friends!" indeed.
 
Kat should've added that not only does Monica over-strategize, she's also melodramatic and annoying. And what makes it worse (for me) is that she resembles the cool, smart and talented Mary Steenburgen (sounds like her, too). Please blindside Mrs. Culpepper!
 
Yeah Monica is very underwhelming, and this is coming from somebody who has rooted for nearly every 40+ woman on Survivor ever. Maybe it's because the other hags on this season are so epic while Monica just sits there whispering rationally to the camera. In some small ways I'm rooting for her success, though, because I want another female winner and she has by far the best edit of the women, and because if she does really well they could be more receptive to bringing back more pre-merge boots.
 
It was reported today that the second boot from Survivor Borneo, B.B., died a few days ago at age 77. He's only the second Survivor player to die after Jenn Lyon from Survivor Palau. :(
 
Kat's gone and thats a good thing. The whole "Hayden I want you to be in this arena" was so weird. He clearly didnt want to trade places and she was like "please Im scared, I want you to risk it all because Im so damn bad in challenges"...

JT without Stephen or Aras without Cirie? Who's worse? They both finished in the same place if you exclude Redemption Island shenanigans.

Also, John was bringing the sexy in his last episode with the scruff and chest.

Also, Caleb has ceased existing on this show, not that anybody is paying attention to his looks but me and his obnoxious fiance. I think he put on a little weight in preparation for the show because there was a promo pic for this episode of him and the island was starting to suit him.

I know. Damn it. :mad: In that aspect it's turning out like this season's Big Brother. All the guycandy gone quickly.
 
Tina's face at TC was priceless... she's so frustrated !!!

Anyway, there's not much to say about this episode except that Tyson / gervase / Caleb & Hayden looks pretty solid for a F4 except if RI is messing everything up

Oh what a bummer of s show it was last night. With Aras and Vytas on RI and joined by Tina, it has left a pretty boring house of players. And that long snickering face of Tyson gets harder and harder to look at, listen to. Somehow he and Gervase are looking alike, save skin color. The tedious part is that going to tribal there is never a plan carried through that has ben talked about before hand. I don't have a favorite as yet and that bothers me. I worry that Caleb will win and take his money home to Golum.
 
Please GOD let Tyson get blindsided soon. I want his smugness to be snuffed out for a third time even more than I want to see Hayden get voted out a first time.
