Survivor 30 - Worlds Apart -

Has Jeff really said "A reward with all the fixin's" that much throughout the seasons? I think I can vaguely remember a time or two. It took over an hour for any of them to figure it out, and once they did they needed several hints from Jeff. And surely some of them are longtime Survivor fans.

Yeah, he does say that occasionally. But, in the words of Sierra, "I'm not even listening to him" most of the time. ;)

And with that line, Sierra joins a noble tradition alongside Parvati and Penner.

In keeping with Shirin's animal analogy, I'm a cackle of hyenas, laughing my ass off at her jury speech, and not even caring now whether Mike or Carolyn wins because that was the highlight of the season for me.

Wow. I take that back. Probst ho-checking Dan with that clip on the reunion show was easily the best and most satisfying moment of the season for me. And it's the only time in 30 seasons I've ever cheered on Probst.

The Second Chance cast was so close to being exactly what I wanted/realistically expected. Kelley Wentworth and Vytas taking T-Bird and Shane's spots is a fucking TRAGEDY though.

Jeff calling Abi-Maria "Abby Marie" too...

I DO NOT get the love for Shane and I was relieved he didn't get on. On Twitter, past players and fans are saying that he didn't get on because voters don't remember him from Panama, but I think the problem is...they do.

Shane is crazy and this male cast direly needed some crazy. Thankfully we got some Jeremy, Woo and even Keith in there to break up the monotony of rest of the men who basically either only talk about strategy and how they're students of the game (Spencer, Vytas, Stephen, sort of Jeff Varner but he seems older, gayer and more bitter now so <3?) or basically have no game other than winning challenges (Joe, Terry, Savage).

Plus, it's about being a foil to the other people. Imagining him bickering all season with Kass or Abi-Maria makes me only sigh at what could have been.

Oh and on a Worlds Apart note... um... I'm thankful Sierra saved us both from Will getting undisputed 2nd place, and from Carloyn getting shut out in the final vote. Thanks girl.

for the second chance
Im surprised Troyzan didnt make a cut

but it is what it is now

This needs to happen again in six months with them being the final two of S31 (meaning Abi-Maria wins).

Peih-Gee can come too if it's a F3. Her shock at getting through after T-Bird was mercilessly dismissed seconds earlier was adorable (she was on social media panicking because she thought she was on the voting bubble for the last few days).

And damn, there's still Kelly Wigley, Kimmi, Shirin, Tasha and even Monica for me to stan over too. Kelley Wentworth over T-Bird aside, this female cast is bringing it for me. First all-female final eight please?

I'll take Peih-Gee/Tasha as allied heroes on one side, Abi/Kass as allied villains on the other side with Shirin as the swing vote at F5 please.

It's so weird because I was never THAT into Kass during Cagayan but over the last year the memories of her time on the show have stood out as epic in my mind. I'm so glad she's on. She needs to fight with all of the men I hate. My only qualm about Tasha is the possibility of her running back to being Spencer's #1 since they already muted her edit in favor of him once before.

Whereas I was totally a fan of Abi-Maria at the time of her season's airing, and was probably the only vocal fan of her here even once she hit her hilarious unkillable cockroach/thorn in Denise's side arc, but hey... RC actually ended up being the one who is legit insane anyway.

I came around to rooting for Kass when she came from waaaaay behind to win that F4 immunity. EPIC.

I hardly remember any of those people.

My favorite moments of the show was Dan's horrible face every time Mike walked into tribal with the necklace. I wonder if Jeff would have called him out if there hadn't been such an outcry from viewers about him, Rodney and Will. I don't think they could have escaped with out addressing the issues there.

Rodney continuing to be stupid as f--- when he voted for Will.

Joe looking so fine and I didn't realize he had such a big audience.

As far as I am concerned Will, Dan and Rodney are still the same ignorant asses they always were.

Jeff was just pissy because Dan's been slamming the show for editing him the way they did in all of his exit interviews. It's not like Jeff suddenly discovered feminism or anything, especially since he was trying to facilitate Will's weak-ass apology to Shirin and didn't even talk about anything Rodney said about women.

My random thoughts:
  • I was not a fan of Mike, but he did earn the win.
  • Can someone just toss the two of them a box of matches and be done with it already?
  • Rodney vocally being self deprecating after losing again with the fire was pathetic. Just made him look like a bigger loser, as if that was really possible.
  • I loved Jenn's speech to the rest of jury: "You're all just bitter that you were outplayed. Get over it!" The truth. And evidently that helped a couple jurors to change their vote.
  • Way too much drama in the reunion, especially about Will and Dan both.
  • Joe gets a second chance. What a shock. (sarcasm)

People are already saying Shirin will be the first one out because she said she's a millionaire but I'm hoping the first two boots will be Terry (immunity threat) and Spencer ("strategic" threat) instead. Come on ladies. You've all played before and you should ALL know by now that you're better off with an all-girl alliance and an all-girl F3.

Regardless if Shirin is the first boot of next season, we'll always have the real ending of Worlds Apart:
