Survivor - Fans vs. Favorites

They wouldn't have because they all have their own conflicts. Cirie was clearly still bitter at Amanda for voting her off at Micronesia -- her main ally in HvV was Candice, despite what the show's edit implied -- and Amanda and Parvati could have worked together at the merge but Parvati saw right through Amanda's convincing performance of "You should play your idol. I don't know. It's so confusing. My head hurts.", AKA the world's worst poker face ever.

Phillip is the thing actively ruining this season. He's so fucking FAKE and putting on a character while being so transparent about it but the edit is still going out its way to revolve around him and peoples' reactions to him. But instead of playing him up as being ridiculous like they did in RI or for Coach in his first two seasons, they're playing him straight and like he's the strategic powerhouse of his alliance... just like they did for Coach in South Pacific which was AWFUL. And everyone hates him! It's not even like when casuals supported Russell because they hate Phillip too.

Oh well. Here's Brenda giving a confessional that didn't make the episode as usual:
How sad is it that she went from being the King of Nicaragua to being the Purple Kelly of Caramoan?

it really is sad how stifled everyone is getting because of phillip, im hoping she becomes more cunning come merge.

I know I sit at home and watch an edited version of what really goes on but I cannot imagine anyone keeping an asshole like Phillip around when he is such a pia and nuisance and a blow hard. Editing makes it seem as if he is 100% that way all of the time and that would drive me mad to be with someone I detested so much.

And they go to merge with Malcolm knowing who has the other idol. I would love to see someone play clever enough with an idol to go to f4 at least. But some clever play because this season lacks clever moves imho.

I'm losing my patience with Phillip, i can't stand the fact that he thinks he's in control.

You never know though till it happens ;)

I found HvV boring post-merge because the Heroes basically had no balls. Even though they lost JT, they could have so easily voted with Sandra in a 5-4 and taken out the Villains. Instead Candice decides to flip to make it 6-3 and then gets her ass voted out the very next episode, lol.

I also don't know why in the current season so much screen time is being given to Phillip. >.>

Cirie actually spoke about being betrayed by Amanda during a Tribal Council in Heroes vs. Villains. Her words were something like "Amanda chose Parvati. Over me. Amanda cost me a million dollars. If that's the person you'd think I'd align with again, then you don't know me." And then she stared daggers in Amanda's general direction. It was delicious, actually. <3

Also, Brenda!

^Knowing Cirie's true intentions are hard. She could have played it an attempt for the rest of the tribe to not think that her and Amanda were going to be a big threat & major alliance. If she was really against Amanda she could have just as easily voted her out since Amanda's name did get written down in the earlier tribal councils.

I miss Cirie too... she was so great.

Brenda is clearly my favorite no need to argue.
I didnt really liked corinne back in the days, but this season she's growing on me even tho she's still have no clue on how to play this game.

Is malcom becoming a bit arrogant ?

I suppose, but multiple post-show interviews did confirm that Heroes tribe was split into four coalitions with the numbers being four (Amanda/James/Rupert/JT), three (Steph/Tom/Colby), two (Cirie/Candice) and one (Sugar). Early on the four and the two were loosely aligned against the three, but JT being erratic and Tom playing an Idol caused Cirie to go. But the dynamics were always interesting to me because the Villains mirrored the situation exactly with Sandra/Tyson/Courtney/Rob, Parvati/Danielle/Russell, Jerri/Coach and Randy.

That's what I love about Survivor though, basically anything can happen and alliances shift often, and backstabbing within alliances takes place too (Russell getting Danielle voted out).

so Cirie still blaming Queen Amanda for not taking her to the final in Micronesia
Amanda definitely chose Parvati because Parvati helped her vote for Alexis
while Cirie kept voting for Amanda and didnt want to make a tie :(

Bottom line guys: Cirie didn't vote for Amanda to win Micronesia and these people take things like that very seriously because while a vote at all the regular tribal councils can be seen as just a game move (i.e. "I couldn't win against you so I wanted you out"), a vote at the final tribal council is way more personal, more of a "I like this person more than that person" vote. Add to that the fact that Cirie is way too smart to play the same game twice and lose twice (unlike Amanda and Russell) and there's just NO WAY she and Amanda were going to work together again like they did on Micronesia.

Is there a spoiler or something that says how long Phillip lasts because I am so fucking tired of all the screen time they give his lunatic self even if it is a put on, which I doubt. I think he is so up his own ass that he can's see what an outhouse he is.

Corinne botched that vote SO hard. All she had to do was humor Phillip, let the Favorites split the votes, and then have her six-person alliance vote out Phillip and it would have been done and he'd be GONE. But no, she ran to Dawn who immediately ratted her out.

And I'm so over Malcolm. Erik and even Boston Rob did the whole "I'm going to name our merged tribe something ridiculous and pretend it has meaning! HAHA I'm HILARIOUS!" thing better in Micronesia and RI.

This is the THIRD week in a row where Corinne blew a huge opportunity to get rid of Philip and gain the upper hand for her alliance. She should've played along with Philip, let them split the votes, get her team to vote six against Philip (without even having to take a risk by alerting someone like Dawn) and she could've even had Reynold play his idol "just in case", thereby effectively flushing out his idol AND gaining the upper hand by booting someone from outside her new alliance.

UGH. She gave good voice-over this time but Corinne blew it strategically week after week. I've posted my (elaborate) theories on this often in Big Brother threads, but this is a classic example of how in games of social strategy, some players think it's "risky" to make a move while failing to calculate the inherent risk in NOT making a move at the right time.

Still no editing for Brenda !!! Ugh !

Malcom is so over the top, I want him and philip to be voted out asap

I was originally rooting for Malcolm but now can't wait to see him go!!!!!!

Looking at the secret scenes and exit interviews perhaps sheds some light on Purple Brenda's edit. In one of the secret scenes a week or two ago, Cochran commented that Brenda was practically catatonic for the entire time they were on the same tribe, and then after the swap she was dancing and animated at that one challenge. Corinne in her exit interviews also stated that Brenda didn't really speak and was practically "mute."

Thing is, though, she still gives pretty animated narration confessionals that they could be putting on the show but choose not to use. Maybe she quits? Maybe she ends up being totally irrelevant to the game? It's frustrating. :-/

Can't believe Corrine is gone. She could have stay but her telling everything to Dawn kind of seals her fate.

She should have kept quiet. It must sucks for Corrine to made the merge but not the jury. Corrine would have been an entertaining juror.
