Survivor Gabon Cast Is Up!

I seriously doubt Suzie made the best move for herself. She even made herself a bigger target for Corinne, Charlie, Bob, and Randy. Anyways, her demand of being in the final 3 with Marcus was completely ludicrous.

However, I do agree that Marcus tried too hard to play both sides tonight. I have a feeling that Matty or Randy will go next.

(Oops, meant to say "I hope Charlie, Corinne, Randy, and Bob make you pay, not play" in my other message.)

How can you possibly say Suzie should've kept Marcus he wanted her out next. We know that.

Um, I wasn't even talking about that. I was talking about changing the rules of the game as the producers see fit. Tonight should've been the merge, what the hell happened to that? Me thinks it was done to keep the "drama" alive.

There have to be rules before you break them. They play with tribe switches/mergers all the time.

Truthfully, this show is going to end up with the people who can't do shit but whine and complain. OK so you have Crystal who can't row, can't climb a hill, can't hold a her arms up for 10 seconds. Skinny Kenny who sits by the water all the time looking like Golum. Susie who can't do shit - and these 3 people deserve what? Nothing in my opinion. And if I hear this social game junk again, what social game are they playing - don't bother Nik and Falcon, I'm not going to read your continuous explanations because they don't make sense either.

To have good tv you have to have a good show that people want to watch and this one is quickly falling into the shitter.

So this show ends up with Crystal, Randy, Kenny, Susie and who in hell is going to watch. None of them have anyone who cares but Nik and Falconfan.

It always amazes me how people think survival is about physical things. It's not. That's not what the word Survivor makes me think of at all. A survivor is someone who paws, scratches, does everything and ANYTHING to preserve themselves and that's precisely what this show is a test of and what Crystal and Kenny have shown when their back is against the wall they find away out. The best way to test survival is put people's back against the wall... if you're a true survivor you get out. If you're not... well you go the way of Ace or Marcus.

You've put the 'anal' in 'analogy' quite well. There ought to be a social component to the game, but to constantly change the teams/tribes without rhyme or reason works against those who are attempting to play a social game. It's difficult to admire someone who doesn't DO anything, but avoids becoming a target. "Here's a million dollars. You were completely useless, and we are rewarding you for it." :D

It definitely makes the game harder for some people than others. And it has been the death of some good players (Aaron, Marcus, Shii Ann) but it's part of the game and more often than not there are ways through them if you're a true Survivor.

Crystal is extremely pathetic at physical challenges, considering that she is an Olympic athlete. I can't decide if she is purposely being that way for some odd strategic reason, or if she really is that pathetic. She has been the most consistently bad physical competitor in all Survivor history I think.

Hmm, Lydia? Scout?

Too bad you just say that because you don't like them

Was it luck that Ken saw that Kelly was the last one ranked on Kota going against what Ace and Matty told him?

Kenny and Crystal haven't done jack shit in this game! Do not call "saving your own ass"... "social strategy". If anything, call it luck!

That's bull and you know it they've decided the past 6 ousters (excluding Dan who they couldn't possibly have had any control over)

Considering they used Kelly to advance themselves and then dropped her feeble ass I really doubt that it would be called "stupidity"

Touché; however, that was not the reason he picked her to start off with, he picked her cause she was hot and that's stupidity.

No he picked her because she was ranked last and he thought she would be likely to defect. He out and out said it in the episode.

ITA. Bidude unlike a lot of other people, I know you from the BB10 thread where you were often logical and reasonable so I know you know better than this. Falconfan is right. It's bull and you know it. In other words, I'm giving you credit because I know you're smart enough to know better, and I'm assuming you're just upset that one of your favorites got eliminated.

Remember how we used to rail at Surge because he would twist logic and reason just to favor Memphis? ;)

Conspiring is not social. Being a whiner is not social. I just don't like Crystal for a thousand reasons and if there is something about her that you do like please feel free not to share it because being a do nothing, crybaby, whiner, fatass who can't climb a hill, a silly baby with the rice, and conspiring with the dumbest people ever on Survivor well Ha! That says a lot about ---------.

I admit I am sorry Marcus is gone. At least he was interesting. Kenny and Crystal are people I think are lucky they have other idiots to play against. As far as their social skills, none - their competition skills are naught.

Ummm how can you say Marcus was more interesting than Kenny and Crystal when he was hardly ever shown?

And as Nik and I pointed "luck" doesn't explain how they get people to do what they want 6 weeks in row... not to mention bending Sugar against Ace (that alone was major skill). They clearly are able to understand the way people think, how to convince them, what angles to work. That is social skills. The ability to read, predict, and understand the wants/motive of other individuals ARE basic social skills and they are what's tested here. They are also the basic social skills which test after test have shown humans but not other great apes are capable of (unlike memmory, basic math, and causal reasoning which chimps can match humans with until the age of 3). So how better can one test survival skills than by testing the very skills that led to the dominance and surival of our species?

You and Nik are always pointing back and forth with the same ridiculous argument. I asked what is there to like about Crystal and Kenny? I don't see jack shit from either one of them, and when your tribe is a bunch of idiots it is easy to manipulate things. Crystal, Kenny, Susie, Ace and Sugar were idiots/are idiots. Social manipulation. Ha! Lying on your fat ass and talking Susie into something is a big whoopie. Same with Sugar going against Ace. Kenny had to lie to get that one done. Since Sugar was on Exile all the time she had little way of knowing what was going on and she trusted Kenny, the wimpy dolt!

And yes, Marcus was a hell of a lot more interesting than dolts.

If Susie is so stupid and easy to manipulate and Marcus is so much smarter and better than Marcus.... why is it Kenny and Crystal could manipulate Susie where Marcus failed?

Because Susies not stupid and she couldn't being duped into a vote that would place her at best 6th place you're just bitter because Marcus is hotter than Susie well big whoop.

We point back to the same argument because you fail to refute it and just wind up making statements that are either repetitive, inaccurate, or repetitive and inaccurate.

heres a marcus interview:

On his penis: “Dude, even my penis was surprised to see itself on TV,” Marcus told me. “I can Google my penis. I’ve reached new heights of awkwardness in my life. How do you tell your grandmother, ‘Grandma, not that you ever would, but do not put ‘Marcus and penis’ in a search field in Google, you will be shocked and horrified. … All I know is, I definitely changed brands of underwear.”
He says he kept that pair of boxers and after washing them repeatedly, “wore them to the show every Thursday night. Kind of like my little reminder to bring myself back [to Africa]. Actually, like the first episode, where it came out, literally, I was actually wearing those same underwear,” he said. “I’m a positive person. I hope people feel that way. You gotta laugh at that.”
On CBS’ penis press release and response: I asked about CBS’ remark that Marcus’ penis was “virtually undetectable,” and he said, “I like how you worked that, kind of bolded and italicized that quote to make it very clear that it was virtually undetectable. No, I didn’t read that quote.”
Although I can’t imagine anyone being serious about size criticism from those screen captures, Marcus also said, “It is what it is, ladies. Sorry. That’s life sometimes. The things that you don’t expect to happen will happen, and you’ve got to laugh about it. And [Survivor Gabon executive producer] Doug McCallie was very apologetic. CBS has been really good about it. My car broke down, CBS, I don’t know if you could make things better that way, but, I’m just kidding. They’ve been really good about it and I think it was an honest mistake. Hopefully it won’t impact me in a negative way; so far, it hasn’t.”

On Charlie: “Charlie and I had a fantastic friendship. He arguably will be one of my best friends for a very, very long time. He’s an amazing, special guy. … He said he’s not sure why a million girls aren’t after [me, but] I’m not sure why a million guys aren’t after him. I’m sure they probably are. So you can see and appreciate all that stuff, but it was really cool to have the friendship, and it was so appreciated in a place that can be as lonely as the Survivor situation, where everyone can be your enemy.” Marcus insisted that Charlie would have gone to the end with him. “I would never sell him out because we really just had so much in common and such great, great interaction together. So grateful for that.”

On the editing of his relationship with Charlie: “I was glad that CBS kind of gave us a little bit of a nod in that they acknowledged that we were having a friendship, although they spent a lot of time trying to make it like Charlie was in love with me while I depended upon Charlie as much as he depended upon me. … I know it’s probably minor, but yes, it is possible for gay people and straight people to have friendships. … I would love to go on Amazing Race and prove that once again.”
In his most striking and thought-provoking criticism, Marcus said, “CBS has a challenge. They have a viewership, they’re doing well, it’s a successful show. Do you push the envelope or do you make the same tried and trued jokes? Do you take the risk of letting a tribe that’s doing really well kind of stick it out, where it’s predictable for a while and then have a really interesting finish? Or do you try to mix it up again just to flare up the ratings for a little bit and then let the game play itself out in a different fashion? I think that’s a low road, high road choice. Sometimes it’s tough, because you’re taking this risk. People might not react well to the Charlie/Marcus friendship. We look at the voting that happened Tuesday, and there’s obviously a large group of people out there who aren’t feeling very progressive about homosexual rights and attitudes. I can totally appreciate [CBS’] situation. I think they chose to go with their traditional, make some jokes at our expense—and hey, it’s not the first time, it’s not the last time. Hopefully, the fact that it was a little bit different and the fact that it really truly was a great friendship will come across no matter what.”

Let me add this...how can Crystal, Kenny, and Susie all be "stupid" for the result

Ummmm Kenny was the one who would've went home so it was CLEARLY it was in his best interest to try adn convince Susie and Crystal not to vote him out.Yet you include him in your tirade... so clearly you're not thinking rationally and just having an emotional reaction

Exactly. An argument isn't "ridiculous" just because some irrational person says so. One must make a compelling case as to why it is ridiculous.

Honestly Joesman (and I say this without pugilism, as someone who does not dislike you) you've accused me of being arrogant in the past yet your replies in this thread have been anything but friendly. We're merely pointing out an argument as to how Kenny and Crystal are actually playing a good game and you (while not refuting any of our points in any logical way) call us names, call our points "ridiculous" etc.

This time, it's you who's being unnecessarily irate and -- more to the point -- maddeningly obtuse.

You certainly don't have to like Kenny or Crystal (that's a personal preference after all) but you have yet to present any sensible argument as to how they are useless or bad players, and how they haven't at least played a better game than Marcus thus far.

Where did i call you or Falconfan a name. If I did I surely didn't mean to do that. I merely point out that you make the same argument and over and over again and I don't see your side of it. I asked a simple question about K&C. What do you like about them. I just don't see anything there. Period.

Please tell me why I am being arrogant and you are not. You don't see my point and I can't see you no matter how many ways you spell it out.

I don't like Crystal and Kenny and I don't see anything brilliant in what they have done that makes them like-able or good players, or social players if you will.

Yes Marcus made a mistake by trusting Cry .

So what do I have to say to you that you will understand that losing, losing, losing not climbing hills, not doing a thing physical is not good or interesting.

That's it then. Again I apologize if I called you a name. I tried to reread what I wrote but I don't see a bad name I called either of you.

Nik, I am not going to die if you dislike me.
