Oh and I also wanna remind everyone who's going apeshit over Bob "brilliant" move that he was not successful in getting the four votes to boot Matty so his ultimate goal failed. Bob had Individual Immunity so he didn't need to protect himself. The point of his plan was:
1. Boot Matty
2. Save Corrine
Neither of these two things happened so insofar as Bob's goal, he failed. Now, a separate benefit occurred that he didn't really intend:
3. Create dissension in the dominant alliance.
It's certainly true that this occurred but again this wasn't his primary goal and -- more importantly -- does it really change the way things would have panned out next week anyway? Let's look at both scenarios:
Had Bob's Plan Never Occurred
1. Corrine would have been voted out this week.
2. The Alliance would presumably be tight going into the next level (all things being equal).
3. Bob is Priority Number One for the Alliance and would have to win Immunity again or likely go home.
4. Had Bob won Immunity again, the Alliance would have to turn on itself and choose a member to boot. Now of course we don't know what would have happened but the two obvious choices would have been
a. Boot Matty
b. Boot Kenny
And that means either Kenny/Crystal would have to get Susie and Bob to help boot Matty OR Bob would approach Matty, Sugar and Susie about a plan to boot Kenny. Let's not forget that Matty already told Sugar way back when about Kenny lying to her about Ace. Knowing that and in the interest of self preservation (i.e. Matty wanting to save himself), Matty would have had to try to get Kenny eliminated anyway.
So now let's compare what would have played out had Bob's plan not occurred with where things stand now that Bob's plan has occurred.
Now That Bob's Plan Has Occured
1. Corrine was still voted out.
2. The Alliance is presumably not as tight because of Kenny's vote. So this is where the real success of Bob's plan (unintentional though it was) comes in. However, this can only be judged a "success" if it change the rest of the outcome. Sure Bob can try to get Matty and Sugar to turn on Kenny, but do you really think Matty won't take the chance to boot Bob first if he can? So...
3. Bob is likely still Priority Number One for the Alliance and likely still has to win Immunity again or risk going home.
4. If Bob wins Immunity again, the Alliance would be in exactly the same position it would have been had Bob's plan not occurred. The likely options will still be:
a. Boot Matty
b. Boot Kenny
And that means either Kenny/Crystal will have to get Susie and Bob to help boot Matty OR Bob would approach Matty, Sugar and Susie about a plan to boot Kenny.
In other words, the scenarios remain fundamentally the same.
1. Corrine went home
2. Bob is still likely to be Priority Number One and still has to win Immunity to save himself.
3. If Bob wins Immunity Kenny would still need to get Bob and Susie's vote to likely save himself.
Therefore nothing has really changed dramatically or fundamentally to alter what would have occurred had Bob created a fake idol or not. The fact that Matty and Sugar will be annoyed at Kenny and may want to boot him if Bob wins Immunity a second time is no different from the option they would have had to entertain anyway if Kenny had not voted for Matty and Bob had won Immunity a second time.
Ultimately then Bob's plan failed in terms of this week's events and can only be successful next week if Bob loses Immunity and still gets Matty/Sugar/Susie to boot Kenny based on emotion/anger over Kenny's vote this week. If that happens, I will be the first to call his plan successful. Until then, his plan cannot be judged a success.
