Survivor Gabon Cast Is Up!

I'm not sure if it was mentioned already in this thread, but I heard on the radio this morning that a complaint letter was filed against CBS and Survivor Gabon for "indecent" exposure. Apparently, during one of the challenges, if you slow down the video and maybe zoom in, there was a little flash of penis.

I think the complaint itself is pretty lame, considering you would REALLY have to look for something like this. But I am curious as to the man in question, because there are some cute guys this season!

You're still wrong
Excellent argument.:D
So it would seem that there is no reason to believe that a winning record creates a substantial and indominable force of momentum in the game Survivor. As such there's relatively no risk in endangering that momentum by reserving your strength for immunity.
Umm...no. Past performance by OTHER people doesn't indicate the success or failure of these particular participants. And psychological momentum does count for quite a bit. Besides, reserving your strongest players actually would work against a team if the challenge had been the obligatory food consumption.

Excellent argument.:D

It was impossible for Nik to mount an argument about this question (whether they threw it or not) considering it wasn't a matter of opinion but one of fact. Neither Nik nor myself made the English language.

Moreover he opened his previous point by pointing out the flaw in your statement. Though you responded you never responded to the flaw he pointed out (much the way you responded to my response). Therefore he need not reitirate his point nor was there a counter-argument for him to respond to so the strength of his initial argument was maintained and you were, in fact, still wrong.

Umm...no. Past performance by OTHER people doesn't indicate the success or failure of these particular participants.

The success and failure of other people is the ONLY way you have to gauge your theory (and the only way the Kota tribe had to gauge your theory). I was under the impression that your argument was that your theory was this was a case of momentum, an issue held to be a common factor in a series of competitions. The only way to examine the validity of that theory is by examining similar situations in the past.

If your argument is now that the psychological disadvantage is not part of a common problem (theory of momentum) but unique to the the psychology of these indiviuals than that only makes the descion of the Kota tribe more intelligent and reasonable. Kota has no way of knowing the unique psycholoigcal conditions at a camp where they have not been. Given that on average such conditions seldom arrise they had not reasonable expectation that they had arrived at the Fang tribe and had NO reason to thinking possibly losing a reward challenge would affect the overriding tribal dynamic.

And psychological momentum does count for quite a bit.

This is your thesis. This is not evidence. This can not support your thesis because it IS your thesis. Perhaps you could elaborate and say WHY you believ psychological momentum counts for "quite a bit" by explaing HOW the momentum can impact this situation. Then perhaps you should explain HOW you know that is the case by bolstering it with FACTS or EXAMPLES as to WHEN this psychological momentum has counted for anything.

Besides, reserving your strongest players actually would work against a team if the challenge had been the obligatory food consumption.

A. There is never a "obligatory food consumption" competition this early so they had absolutely no reason to expect.

B. I don't see how having strong people for that challenge would be a problem.

Now we're clearly moving back to a grey area over what is being disputed. Is your contention that A. Kota shouldn't have chosen to bench their strongest or B. Kota benching their strongest players at the reward challenge has negatively affected their overarching game?

I realize A and B sound like the same but they're actually substantially different. If you're going to debate point A. You must be able to shift out of your perspective and into that of a third part. If you're trying to determine what Kota SHOULD have done you must be able to look at the situation with the limited to the information that was available to Kota at that time. Point B puts no such constraint on the issue.

Hell, I'm still surprised at your capacity to virtually mis-spell anything the day before a paper is due.

(sorry, love you!)

You know what I was going off 40 sleep free hours. I think one homophone slip was perfectly acceptable and you're just looking for a reason to discipline me ;)

Can I just reiterate how intensely I hate Jeff Probst. Because my hate for him increasing exponentially this season. I cringe at his opening recap and wanted to strangle him for his commentary during the tribe picking and his obvious attempts at game tampering. And I'm surprised he didn't just bend over during the immunity challenge because he was so clearly begging Marcus to fuck him. Now onto non-Probst commentary

Points to Marcus today for... A. Pointing out that Crystal is stronger than Randy during the tribe ranking. B. Quickly, easily, and subtly getting his tribe to grab his alliance (as best they can).

Points to Jacquie for a valiant try. She put up a great fight and if Crystal were just a little dimmer Jacquie would've made it.

Points to Crystal to becoming the clear leader of a majority alliance. For not putting herself behind the eightball and avoiding the temptation to axe Kelly.

Damn it.... Randy is sticking around. He proved his usefulness to Marcus in the immunity challenge.

Also Charlie's stalkerish comments about being on the same tribe as Marcus... hilarious.

I used to think Charlie's crush was cute..not so much anymore. I think it's because I just watched a marathon of Make Me a Supermodel and after 13 episodes of the Bronnie romance, I find the gay-straight relationships exhausting and kind of annoying. Marcus isn't actively flirting with Charlie like Ben was with Ronnie, but still I'm over it.

I've found on this season there are more people I can't stand compared to the one's I like. Completely opposite from last season.

GC - awful team player. poor work ethic. go home already.
Crystal - seems to be way more bark than bite
Randy - shut up already
Gamer kid (can't recall his name) - Seems like a 12 year old boy
Kelli - From the original profiles, I thought she was supposed to be this seasons young sporty girl a la Colleen Haskell, Elisabeth Filarski (pre-crazy days), etc. She sucks at everything and has a bad attitude to boot.
Sugar and Ace - just don't like em.

People I like
Marcus - awesome athlete and seems like an overall good guy
Matty - same as Marcus

On the fence
Charlie - I want to see him playing the game without stars in his eyes
Corinne - seems like a good player, but haven't heard much from her.
Bob - He seems ok
Sue - I'm not even sure if that's her name. At the moment she seems like a coattails player. Hopefully she gets in the game.

My wish was granted when the new tribe shaped up to be Marcus, Dan, and Charlie...and some other folks. I'm torn, though, as usual, in that screentime is rarely given to a tribe that's having success. So any interesting 'alliances' will be happening offscreen as the cameras focus on Exile Island's Sugar Shack and the trainwrck called 'fang'.I'll have to rewatch, as I could see why both Dan and Suzie (sp?) were picked , but didn't catch why Jackie was cut off from her alliance. Snatched up too quickly by the other tribe, or did her group consciously exclude her?
Methinks Kelli isn't long for the game, as she dissed Crystal in Tribal Council and voted against Ace last time. But, then again, Ace and Sugar might need to keep her around just for the numbers, as it seems unlikely that a real alliance will form with the Fang gang. Nice shake up. I approve.

Wait, wait, wait, wait...I thought you didn't like white guys? ;)

Silence you. Don't slander me. I already cleared that up:p

Jeff is so terrible. I hate the sound of his voice and his narration of the games.

Randy is the only person I can't stand on either tribe. He's just so revolting in every way. Everyone else is just mildly annoying. Matty is starting to annoy me for allying with Randy and his careless back and forth shit stirring. Plus I have a feeling he's gonna ally with that bitch Ace.

I was a little disappointed that Marcus and Charlie weren't separated if only for the comedy fall out from Charlie (lol) and I was again laughing my ass off and shaking my head when Charlie acted all stalkerish in his voice-over. Seriously, if there was a book about Charlie, it would be He's Just Not That Into You.

Don't be such a cynic you know you wanna see more of Charlie's crazy play out. It's the most entertaining storyline this season. I like Marcus but he's already starting to look a little haggard. He's starting to remind me of Joel who started out hot but started to look like the cryptkeeper as time went on and food became scarce.

The most entertaining storyline is the one in my head where Marcus, Matty and Dan all start making out and taking each other's clothes off....

I bet this is Probst's favorite storyline too.

"First one to cum wins Immunity. You're gonna have to dig deep like you've never dug before..."

A Marcus, Matty, Dan 3some would be good. But I'd switch out Matty for Charlie, because Charlie just seems like a nasty little twink that could bring the freak outta Marcus and Dan. Mentioning Probst sorta kills the fantasy though. Probst isnt an ugly guy but there is just something so unsexual, and boner-shrinking about Probst that puts me off.

This episode proved to me that Kenny is smart! He was the only one who used the tribe ranking gimmick the way it should be used, pulling in the weakest member from the other team because she'd be likely to jump ship and vote with his alliance. He successfully managed to weaken the Onion alliance (by voting out Jackie), assume control of his tribe (Ken, Crystal, GC and Kelli/Matty form a majority that can oust Sugar and Ace), correctly predict that Sugar would have the idol, and successfully turn his minority number alliance (three against Randy/Matty/Dan/Susie) into the majority, weakening Matty and his crew.

I loved when Probst was like, "Wow they choose Kelly in the most shocking move so far this season." Oh Jeff. It's only shocking to you because you don't know anything about the game you've hosted for almost a decade. That was a good social strategy move, it's not all about brute strength dude.

If the post merge dynamics end up being Kenny's crew vs Marcus' crew, I will be very happy. (My money's on Kenny winning that match-up.)

Glad you were disappointed about Charlie and Marcus being separated, since I like Charlie and his adoration of Marcus is not lost on Marcus and now that they have Dan, well Damn. Yeah, too bad Mattie didn't get to make their team.

Fang is the dregs of Survivor. GC, Kenny and Crystal just looked lazy. Crystal's little whine, "I can't move the boat," was pathetic for an athlete like her and her size. For goodness sake she could be wonder woman if she put half an ass to it.

Randy was surprising. I too feel the winning team loses a lot of air time. Matty and Bob are the only 2 on Fang that are worth their salt. And they voted out a strong player. GC, Kenny and Crystal are afraid of Ace as they should be since he is 3 times the man they are and I don't even like Ace as a person. Sugar, well I am impressed and she may turn out to be the member that actually shows what she's made of, but then Ace is going to use her and her idol to his advantage unless Sugar is smarter than a 5th grader.

I would bet Charlie could take on Marcus and Dan and still have room for dessert, Mattie.

Bob isn't on Fang

And Cyrstal, Kenny, and GC made the best decision for their game. Who gives a fuck about putting your tribe at an advantage if its putting you personally at a disadvantage.

As for Sugar I don't know what you saw but I saw someone showing that they lack a fundamental understanding for what Survivor is when she sat there saying she wanted to wind up on Fang AND have Kelli voted off. It showed she wasn't looking at things strategically and was simply concerned with who she liked. She wanted to be placed in a four to three minority in her tribe. Why would you wish for that? Any person looking at things logically would've hoped to wind up in Kota or if she wound up in Fang would've hoped that an original Fang member was gone.

I was laughing at how inept some of the people are at paddling. Couldn't even move their rafts. Not that hard!

Glad to see Marcus and Dan are on the same tribe. I think that this shake-up will make their tribe stronger, and hopefully the other tribe will vote out Ace. Probably not since he a strong competitor.

Yeah, I'd love to see Ace and his fake accent go as well but they need him for a while. I'd say eliminate Sugar first (to smoke out the idol) and then Ace. All they have to do is pretend that Kelly is gonna be the next boot and then boot Sugar. However, if Ace and Sugar think they're next on the block (as Jackie's elimination would suggest), they might try to use the idol. The best bet would then be to make it "obvious" that they were booting Ace, so Sugar would give him the idol, Ace plays it, and then they boot Sugar anyway.

If I were Kenny I'd march right up to Ace like, "Cheerio mate. You're gonna be voted out next right and proper, you will. Hope you don't have the bloody idol or nothing. Otherwise it'd be cor blimey, skip to me lou, bangers and mash."

Ace's accent never really bothered me. But last episode it seemed especially on and off. He's a douche.

They would be smartest to pretend they are gonna boot Sugar so she uses it on herself. There's really no guarantee she'd give it to him, but she'd def save herself. Then they could play it off right before voting that they want sugar out so she uses it and then vote out Ace instead.

I hope they get rid of Matty too since he seems determined to team up with Ace. Plus he seems to be against Crystal and Kenny who I like.

What is it about Crystal and Kenny that you like? I can't find anything to like about them. I started to like Crystal, but she became a whiner. She's supposed to be an Olympic athlete and she can't do squat. Kenny is useless in my book. I can't see anything about him at all, except he is hoping he'll score a cute girl along the way.

She is a dominant female in most challenges. But every challenge isn't for everyone. And it's not like she is constantly complaining about everything. I would complain once in a while too living in those conditions. There have been lazy whinyu people in this game she hardly deserves to be called a whiner. She is not a ball of negative energy like Randy. He's just so nasty about everything. He bitched nonstop about that old lady then when he hits his head because of his own stupidity he's all in her face asking for help because she's a nurse.

Kenny can't compete physically with most of the other guys. But he's proven to be a puzzle guy. He overcame a lead and beat a physics professor and was most responsible for his tribes first win. I'd hardly call him useless.

But the problem of doing with the bait and switch for Sugar is that they probably actually want to get rid of the weakest one and that's her. That's why they'll probably pretend to be getting rid of Ace and then actually vote her.

Matty seems like he's just inclinded to go with the majority regardless. It should be very clear that he's in the outside of hte original Fang and he should be firming up that fourth spot but instead he's let Kelli usurp it.

I appreciate social strategy far more than winning challenges. And when you look at someone like Ace who is good at these challenge but completely being played in social situations (no matter what he thinks) well that makes Ace suck and the people who are able to best him not suck.

I was fully prepared to hate Ken because I was sure he would be a charactericture of a geek impressed upon us likable by heavy editting but he's proven himself fairly well. And Crystal well she's clearly the one in charge of her tribe. At the end of the day if Randy was shouting at me to do shit all day I'd have the same STFU attitude as them. He's a loud annoying asshole who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Man this thread is not nearly as active and fun as the old BB10 thread! lol. Maybe Nik2 and aijalon should start arguing again. ;)

The last episode was great and I'd like to add Ken to the list of Twinks I'd Like to Fuck. lol. He's adorable and the smarts behind his team. Charlie is still my favorite though, even if he is a little bit creepy. He can stalk me anytime!

It's just the nature of the show... once a week + no live feeds =less active thread.

But I'm totally with you. It's so much less fun now that we're all agreeing ;)
