I've Known My Share Of Geeks/Nerds And Everyone Of Them Hated Gays. No Doubt Insecure With Their Own Lack Of Social Skills And Sexual Experience - And Thus Scared To Death Anyone Assume They Are Gay. (Although Two Of The Ones I Had The Mispleasure Of Knowing Were Pedophiles Who Preyed On Prepubescent Girls - Some Moral High Ground).

Wow.... I don't even know where to begin. I really don't. The level of pure ignorance in this comment astounds me. I can't pretend to be impartial because I am not. I have (quite proudly) considered myself a nerd for the vast majority of my life. But personal outrage aside your logic has so many holes in it that it would sink quicker than the Titanic.

First of all even IF we assume you did know "your share" of nerds and trust your judgment that they were homophobes (which is a questionable step in the process regarding your heterosexist tirades in this and other threads) you certainly can just jump from a handful of personal acquaintances sharing a trait to stating unequivocally that all people of a certain group MUST be homophobic. It's a ridiculous generalization that your half-hearted explanation doesn't begin to rationalize... speaking of which...

How on earth does being insecure with ones social skills (assuming all nerds share such a trait which is debatable in and about itself) how that becomes synonymous homophobia is beyond me. Being insecure about yourself doesn't automatically make you homophobic.

As For Charlie - If I Were On The Jury I Would Certainly Have Voted For Him Because He Is Gay.

I almost didn't comment on this because I've responded to similar homosexist statements time and time again... almost. But I can't not comment because it's too important ot mention. That this line of thinking is offensive, destructive, short sighted, and homosexist.

No one should win things BECAUSE they're gay. No one should be a person's favorite BECAUSE they're gay. No one should reap any form of benefir simply BECAUSE they're gay. Your inability to see a person for who they are, what they do and what they've accomplished rather than who they want to sleep with is quite frankly offensive.

Compouded with it is the sheer lack of logic inherit in your thinking through which the clear implication is that if gays should always support gays over heterosexuals(regadless of their credentials, abilities, or accomplishments) then logic dictates the inverse would hold true and heterosexuals would be obligated to always support heterosexuals over homosexuals and if that's the case then you're dooming yourself... all of us to an infinity of repression.

1. I'm not a fucking needy moron.

2. I do have straight friends (way more than gay friends actually) some of whom are comfortable enough in their masculinity to be fairly affectionate and I don't think anything of it. And good for them for being so comfortable! Hell we should be encouraging straight guys to be cool around gay guys and not send a coded message that if they are affectionate towards a gay man as a friend, we will automatically assume that they are gay themselves. Do you see how this is problematic?

3. That kind of thinking is actually offensive because it pre-supposes that men cannot just be affectionate with each other without a sexual component being attached. In other words: we don't allow men to bond the way we allow women to bond, and what kind of message does this send to young boys? And then we wonder why men commit most of the violent crimes in society and why they have problems dealing with emotions? Homophobia stems largely from a society that tells men that any kind of male bonding is aberrant. If we're going to combat that, we have to also allow men to be friends, to be affectionate with one another without always having to add a sexual component (and then calling the sexual component "scary" of course, which is not what you were doing I know, but it is what happens in society).

4. I'm not a fucking needy moron. Seriously. Unlike Charlie, I can accept friendship and tell that a straight guy is not just gonna stop being straight just because I'm fawning all over him.

Forget Marcus and Charlie and this homophobic nonsense! It's a distraction from what I think is the much bigger problem this season. The more unsettling issue is how the people of color (Crystal, Kenny and Susie) are being treated as villains on this board (and by some players within the game) even though they're playing a good game. They're basically being vilified for not rolling over and letting the white pretty people run away with the whole damn thing.

Oh no! How dare they try to survive! How day they take out pretty, pretty Marcus! Crystal is a big ass bitch, Kenny and Susie are useless, and don't forget -- all three of them are just plain UGLY! Unlike the beautiful people over on the other team. Why oh why won't these colored people just let them win?? Fucking producers. It must be their doing because otherwise there's no way three people like that could take out players like Marcus and Charlie.

I see what you are saying as far as Charlie. But I do think you are being a bit harsh.

On the treatment of minorities in the game I concur wholeheartedly. But I didnt want to jump to conclusions and be accused of always making things about race.
I knew could count on you to call it though. It is crazy how people are acting like Crystal and Kenny are awful monsters for trying to further themselves in the game. They really havent done anything but get rid of people who were after them. I feel like Matty is one of the biggest offenders of this aversion toward the castaways of color. I thought he was okay at first but he was always especially nasty to Crystal and GC, even when they were trying to help him. He was always positioning himself to get them out at all costs. They were never a huge threat to him but he was always so focused on those 2. He seemed to have no real strategy except getting rid of Crystal once GC was gone. Ive sorta been away from the board so I dont know about anything crazy the posters have said but I've seen it on the show a little. I didnt want Marcus to go either but it would have been idiotic for Kenny and Crystal to keep him.

Ace Gordon celebrated being voted off on "Survivor: Gabon" with a drunken boozefest that reportedly ended in a throwdown with the cops.

Gordon was busted early Sunday morning for disorderly intoxication, obstruction of an officer and resisting arrest without violence after reportedly being tossed out of a bar in Naples, Fla. for striking a woman.

According to the Naples Daily News, Gordon was also aggressive towards an officer while being escorted out the bar and was thrown to the ground in order to be handcuffed.

The NDN also reports Ace "repeatedly told deputies he was famous."

The guy you'll never hear about again was released from Collier County jail on Sunday.

I've had many straight friends who thought that just because someone was gay, that he/she was my best buddy. Not true. There is a Lt. I work with who everyone in my squadron knows is gay, that I can't stand.

I was also stationed in Bosnia with another gay Lt. in the army that I couldn't get along with.

Just because we're gay, doesn't mean we always stick together. I didn't like Charlie's puppydog luv for Marcus at all. It made me uncomfortable. JM2!

B. No one is "responsible" to "defend" gay individuals in any situation and certainly not in situations as trivial as a reality show.

In large issues it is the duty of every individual, regardless of sexual preference, to defend the innocent, regardless of sexual preference. It's very simple.

In small issues like this you're free to like and "support" whoever the hell you would like. But "supporting" someone does not in anyway allow you to make untrue statements about them... such as that they're a good player.

Regardless of whatever attempts you make to justify yourself if you're honestly this bent on seeing someone to loose solely because that individual is responsible for getting rid of another individual who happens to be gay then it's disturbing.

MY LORD! This episode has had so many WTF are you doing moments to me.

1) Why did Bob tell Sugar that he made a fake idol? My only assumption that he realized if he she had the real idol she could be a real thorn in his side should he try to use the fake and just wanted to lay some smooth ground with her should he need it later.

2) Kenny WHY did you not outbid Corrine?! I mean it turned out not to matter but why would you ever take that risk. What else did you think was coming at that auction?

3) Bob, Randy, Corrine....have you really not picked up that Sugar had the idol yet? I mean how many times did you people send her out there?

4) Randy.... ummmm WTF is with that lame excuse for a strategy? I'm assuming you weren't dumb enough to base a strategy on maybe Bob will find and give me the idol (so we can STILL be at a one person disadvantage). I'm going to assume you're just a complete asshole and just trying to make an excuse for yourself.

5) Why on Earth are you gunning for fucking Susie?!?! I mean has it not occurred to you that clearly you need to be trying to seperate Crystal and Kenny? Really?

6) Matty... have you surveyed the tribe the words "We need to take out the physical threat..." should NEVER come out of your mouth. Never.

Also can we talk about how much I love Sugar. Because it's pretty much exponential at this point. She's just absolutely amazing.

I'm curious to find out what Sugar means when she told Bob she had an idea....

My thought would be she wants herself, Matty, Bob, and Corrine to band together.... I mean that's what makes sense seeing how blatantly obvious Kenny and Crystal are together at the very least it would be smartest for Matty and Sugar to try and split them up.

And that clip PLEASE tell me that preview of next week is Corrine being tricked into using ANOTHER fake idol because I would be like... my god the season can just end there if it happens I'd be that content.

I decided to finally register for these forums so I can discuss Survivor. Nobody I know seems to be watching it this season, it's a shame.

I seem to differ from the main stream opinion, which isn't unusual for me. Personally, I loved Randy! Sorry to see him go. I thought he was hilarious-- his remarks were usually quite witty and entertaining. His complaining is fun, whereas the complaining from some people is not entertaining.

Also, on the matter of him being a racist, I can't comment-- I don't think there is sufficient evidence so why make the claim? Randy didn't have any problem with Charlie being gay and referred to him as a friend, if he was racist it would be a no brainer that he'd most likely hate Charlie. Therefore, I don't think he is racist nor would I assume he is. I don't blame him for hating GC & Crystal, I don't like either of them.

That being said... it was pretty hilarious when Sugar got Bob to give him the idol! Bob has an interesting strategy, it doesn't make much sense. He voted for Susie to leave yet he gave Randy the fake idol... it sends mixed messages. I'm hoping Bob can figure out a way to stay, I really like him and appreciate how much he is enjoying his time on the show for aspects other than the million dollar prize.

I don't understand why people hate Corrin, by the way. What's the deal? I have no preference on her. I like her more than I do Crystal & Kenny, or Susie (she's just a bump on the log, little camera time because she's boring).

I did laugh pretty damn hard when Crystal was casting her vote though! Haha

From the time Sugar and Bob decided to do that to Randy, I LOL'd until the Tribal Council. For a second there, I thought Probst didn't realize it was fake. I thought Randy deserved what he got.

As for Susie, why did she get out of that tub so fast? I'd have been in there scrubbing that filth off of myself for as long as they would allow. Having to live without a way to really clean myself and wearing filthy clothes is why I couldn't do Survivor.

I like Kenny and Crystal, they are playin' everybody in the GAME, but why did Kenny let Corrine get that head start thing? He didn't buy anything did he? Do they get to keep the money? What I don't get about Crystal is she was such a good athlete in the '04 Olypics and other swimming events, but she really hasn't performed well in any of the challenges.

Oh, did y'all see the veins on Bob's chest and arms last night? He's getting too skinny.

Anyway, I loved this episode, especially the ending.
