The Scottish star returned to America's Got Talent - which gave her a major break across the Atlantic - to unveil new track You Have To Be There, written by Abba stars Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.

SuBo, who found success as runner-up in Britain's Got Talent in 2009, is due to release her third album, Someone To Watch Over Me, in November.
The song, which came from the songwriters' popular Swedish musical Kristina, appeared to delight the audience for the talent show.

She said afterwards: "I'm so pleased the audience enjoyed the song. I really loved performing that big number. I was also a little nervous introducing something new."
SuBo added that it was "wonderful" to return to the show, which was created by her record label boss Simon Cowell.

Her previous two albums, I Dreamed A Dream and The Gift, have sold more than 14 million copies and simultaneously topped the UK and US charts.

Susan Boyle to star in her own fly-on-the wall documentary

he fly-on-the-wall documentary on ITV1 will show just how little down-to-earth SuBo has changed since she rocketed to fame on Britain's Got Talent.

It will show her humdrum life in her hometown of Blackburn, West Lothian, going to the shops and to church.

She will also be seen backstage when she performed on China's Got Talent and recording her Comic Relief duet with Peter Kay, I Knew Him So Well.

An insider said: "Despite the fact she's had this enormous success in record sales, she wanted to show her fans she's still the same Susan.

"She still lives in the same house and has a normal life.
"Since the beginning of 2011, she has been filmed for a fly-on-thewall documentary about her life."

The programme will be shown just before the release of her new album Someone To Watch Over Me on November 7.

Susan, 50, was given a standing ovation this week when she debuted a song from the album on America's Got Talent.

She performed You Have To Be There - written by Abba duo Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.

Susan admitted she was nervous about her appearance and said: "I'm so pleased the audience enjoyed the song. I really loved performing that big number.

"I was also a little nervous introducing something new. America's Got Talent is where I started with my first album, so it was wonderful to be back and for the support."

Susan first performed on America's Got Talent in 2009 singing Wild Horses but Lou Reed refused to allow her to sing his song Perfect Day last year.

The insider added: "She was absolutely brilliant.

"She was happy and excited to be returning to the show.
"It was where she did her first post-Britain's Got Talent performance and it feels like family when she goes back.
"It went well and dispelled what happened last year when she wasn't allowed to perform, although she had flown over."

Since BGT in 2009, SuBo's first two albums have sold more than 14million copies and made her a multi-millionaire.

Debut album I Dreamed A Dream went straight to No1 in the UK and America and was the fastestselling debut by a female artist in the UK.

Second album The Gift also toppped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

For her third album, she has chosen songs that are "emotive and reflective in response to the outpouring of life stories from so many people who wrote letters to her from around the globe".

Well, it's Susan's story that sells her. Even if it weren't for that, could you really knock her when there are other mediocre artists who are currently infesting the music industry.

'X Factor' USA Stacy Francis: 'Susan Boyle inspired me'

http://www.digitalspy.com/celebrities/stacy-francis/

Stacy Francis has said that Susan Boyle inspired her to audition for The X Factor USA.

The 42-year-old mother-of-two, whose audition was described by show boss Simon Cowell as "one of the best" he has ever seen, hailed the courage of the 2009 Britain's Got Talent runner-up.

Francis told Access Hollywood: "Susan Boyle - she stepped out, she was brave enough. She had to go through 20,000 people as well so I'm gonna try."

She added that she was also inspired by her desire to meet Simon Cowell and a method of achieving your dreams supported by Oprah Winfrey.

"I wrote down, 'I wanna meet Simon Cowell', and I put his picture on my wall and I took the Oprah Winfrey approach," Francis explained.

"Oprah talks about it - writing a dream book and writing a dream journal and having a dream board and I put it up and every day I would look at it and I believed it could happen. And literally, six weeks later I was standing in front of him."

Francis, who said that she had always believed she was too old to be a singer, added: "Simon - love him - I heard him say in an interview with Piers Morgan, 'Who said that 28 is the end? Who made that up?'.

"I was sitting watching him before the auditions and said, 'You know what? He's right. Who made up that rule?' And I believed it for 12 years.

LMFAO!

Eviltwin gurl,

Nobody has responded to this thread (except you) since September 23rd. :rotflmao:

...and yea gurl, he still keeps on posting performances and bumping it up desperately. :o Even though only 3 people have actually responded to the thread since he started it on September 7th. Just three?

#I can't :o

Did you copy and paste this from the Whitney Memorial thread?

Susan Boyle debuts at No. 3 with her third set, "Someone to Watch Over Me" (134,299).(!)

She debuted at #3 and not #1? Not even #2?

...is America's love affair with Susan Boyle officially over? !oops!

I guess she can only sell her tired story for so long before people start to stop buying AND giving into the hype. :-({|=

^^^

you sound like a closet fan to me. considering this wasn't a "comeback", her record company didn't push up her release date to be grammy eligible, had real competition during her release week, she had little promotion, no hit single and is a niche artist she did well.

Susan Boyle on TLC Documentary: 'You Have to Share Your Life With the Public'

The Scottish singer tells Canadian TV she wants to perform a duet with Brad Pitt, even if the Hollywood actor doesn't sing.

TORONTO – The Scottish singer who became an unlikely star on Britain’s Got Talent insists she's quiet and shy, but emerged from her shell for her TLC documentary, Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar, to debut Sunday night.

That revelation came Friday morning on Canadian TV as a cheeky Boyle told Canada AM co-host Beverly Thomson she’d like to perform a duet with Brad Pitt.
“Brad Pitt, doesn’t sing but darn nice-looking, doesn’t matter,” she told the CTV nationwide morning show.
The TLC documentary is timed to coincide with Boyle’s third album, “Someone To Watch Over Me,” from SYCO/Columbia Records.
“You have to share your life with the public. They want to get beneath that public image, they want to get to know what Susan Boyle’s really like,” Boyle revealed in an exclusive Canadian TV interview.
“Susan Boyle’s really quite quiet and shy….mostly!” she added.
The singer became an overnight success in 2009 when she sang “I Dreamed A Dream” on Britain’s Got Talent, making her a YouTube sensation.
Boyle also opened up on Canadian TV about the frumpy beige dress she wore on the British TV show.
“It was originally bought for a wedding, and I decided to wear it, but it doesn’t match the black shoes does it?” she told Canada AM's Thomson.
And what about her famous wink at Simon Cowell during her now legendary TV audition?

“I’ve been through auditions before for television and had the door slammed in my face. So I said, well you have to be damn cheeky or you try to prove yourself. I was out there to try and prove myself by singing to them…The audience laughed at me, fine, but who got the last laugh?” Boyle said.
