I met this doctor guy and he told me that the stomach fluids are so strong that the HIV virus cannot survive if ingested.

Before you run to the nearest dick, know, however, that you cannot have bleeding gums, or any kind of cut in your mouth. Barring no cuts and bleeding gums you can swallow without worry.

I confirmed this with another doctor and he too said that the HIV virus cannot survive the stomach.

Seriously, even though HIV would be killed by stomach acids, an individual can have SO many cuts or lesions that they are not aware of or can't feel. But, hey . . . let's take the risk.

If you are going to swallow, or not use a condom, make sure you and your partner are tested.

The esophagus plays a role her too. It could be damaged and more virus compatible.
If you can get syphilis, hepatitus, gonorereah and venereal warts through oral sex why would HIV be safe?
 
It's been said many times.... swallowing does NOT make the risk any higher than spitting. That is true. However, there is still a risk, albeit VERY small, of contracting HIV via oral sex through the lining of or small tears in the mouth. So it is still not 100%, but if you're going to suck, it doesn't increase your risk to swallow.
 
Exactly. While the digestion of semen prevents any viruses from being transmitted through the stomach walls, doctors are still unsure of the ability for HIV to pass through mucous membranes in the throat. However, when given three options (swallowing, spitting, and well...savoring), swallowing and spitting are both safer than leaving semen in your mouth where it can transfer through the membranes of the gums (cuts make that easier, but transfer without cuts is still possible).
 
Yes it maybe true that it cannot survive, but there are many other parts of oral sex to worry about. PLEASE do not go around giving oral sex just from this post!!! Other nasty STDs can affect the throat, like Herpes and Crabs!! You guys do not want those down your throat, yes I want u to be safe than sorry!! :wave:

I don't know what to say to this thread. HIV has literally millions of paths it could take while on its way to the stomach. I mean lets use some common sense here. Reach into your mouth and feel your gums. WOW soft huh? Lots and lots of things can make tiny little abrasions in those puppies. There's the obvious, like toothpicks, floss, biting your lip (which I do on accident a lot), and brushing teeth, but what about eating a chip? Think delicious salty tortilla chips don't rip up your mouth a tiny bit? Also, think every single virus will leave that mouth right away? I think not...

Anyways, spitting or swallowing are both too dangerous in my opinion to be doing without a test. I will however also bring up the fact that even if you don't wait for them to cum in your mouth, HIV is also happy to be transfered via pre-cum. The chances are less with pre-cum than with the actual ejaculation, (unless of course he has gonorrhea too or some other bacterial infection, in which case they are incredibly higher,) but HIV still has a tiny chance, which is all it needs. I'm not trying to freak anyone out, but truly the only "safe" oral sex is AFTER getting tested, and of course with negative results. No, I don't think you'll be running out and getting tested if it's some spur of the moment romance, but it is something to keep in mind when thinking of safe sex. After all, AIDS is a horrible disease and everyone needs to do their part to get it off this planet.

Oh and like superman said, there are still plenty of things to catch via contact with the penis without need of cum or pre-cum. In fact, most of them aren't visible.

That's not so comforting. What about the cracks in your lips? Any open sores you might have on your face or in your mouth or gums. HIV can penetrate those.

Can't really rejoice. This "news" is just fool's gold.
 
It's the whole mucus membrane thing too right? If it gets there, you're definitely high at risk for contracting it.

Or use Scope. While booze/alcohol will probably disinfect and kill some things in your mouth (alcohol does that), being in an altered state could leave you vulnerable to making poorer decisions about safe sex or cause you to forget to be prepared like you may normally be.

I did a lot of A.I.D.s work and we told people you could get it through oral but we all knew you couldn't. I don't wanna go on about it cause this question comes up every couple months but I have been out there and involved in H.I.V. cases and there is no prof that you can get it through oral. All the cases were shown that the men also fucked. But it's good to use a rubber if you are scared.
