Sweeney Todd: Depp Sings!

There was a poster for the movie in my college's newspaper about a week ago, looks interesting.
 
I'm actually really looking forward to this...the trailers look like it will be a pretty good (or at least unique) adaptation of Sondheim's material.
 
I'd have to hear more to make a judgement.

This is one of my favorite Sondheim shows, so I hope it's good.

Stephen semed non-commital about the singing in an interview, but he's a perfectionist when it comes to the performance of his songs.
 
I personally feel that Depp is overdoing the London accent to compensate for the fact that he doesn't have a good enough voice to sing the - often quite operatic - music of Sweeney Todd.

I'd also be interested to see how charming he will play the character - he can't just do scary and freaky all the time.
