I disagree. I think this is the first sign of any sort of grotesque excessiveness in Singapore. Most things done in the city are very tasteful and nothing worse than any other city in the world.

But I think this building is gross. Dubai comes to Asia with a vengeance. Frankly I think it's bloody ugly and for a nation that brings us the Singapore Girl and one of the world's finest airlines along with some stunning architecture to date, it's a huge step down.

I think their death penalties for everything above parking violations are pretty grotesquely excessive. They also have an incredibly repressive government in general. Westerners ignore this because they're such a capitalist icon.

The only death penalty that are given out are the one when someone commit a murder.
