Swim Team

Everything happens in its' own time. When you and the story are ready it will happen and we your loyal readers will enjoy the fruits of your labor.

This isn't news of the next chapter. Sorry about that. I found this on youtube. It might be of interest to those interested in Scott's organ installation. It's a programme on the Sanfilippo Foundations huge Wurlitzer pipe organ of 5 manuals and 80 ranks of pipes. Scott's is much smaller with 4 manuals and 50 virtual ranks.

The 2nd largest is still being installed at Carma Labs and will be a 4 manual of approx 100 ranks

I'm including the following because it is one of 4 Fox Special 4manual 36 rank Wurlitzers from 1928 in its original restored theater.

Apologies for not having another chapter of Swim Team ready for posting.

That's a lot of pedal pushing and stop flipping/setting!

Some of it was automated with pneumatically operated pistons even on the 1928 Fox Special. Modern organs use computer action for a far advanced level of automation, having enough memory levels for playing a concert of many pieces and loads of stop changes while not even touching what the resident organist has set up.

Apologies again. After selling our last house because of the homophobe neighbours and moving into a condo, I thought things would be more conducive to writing however I was wrong. Last September at the height of Covid19 I came down with a belly ache. My Doctor shipped me off to the hospital where her diagnose of appendix was confirmed. Actually it was ready to rupture but for various reasons surgery had to be delayed. When they couldn't delay any longer I was wheeled to the OR. The appendix burst on the short trip to the OR. The operation was ultimately successful but I was transferred to their recovery unit, extending my stay to almost 8 weeks. Life was Hell. Last month I had a knee replacement which went well but with physiotherapy etc, getting better has become a full time job.

I still want to finish Swim Team but I can't promise anything. I just wanted you all to know what can get in the way of completion.

Glad you are well doing well now and will gladly wait for as long as need be for you to end "SWIM TEAM" the way you want to end.

Love this story and Thank you for allowing us, your readers, to form a relationship with the characters in your story and make them real people in our minds.

Sheep, my first posting. I have been enjoying this story for some time now. So sorry you have been having the trouble you have had, both physically and socially. I hope you will be able to finish Swim Team. I have fallen in love with Scott and the gang and really want to continue living through them. Can't wait to find out how the new organ will be received and the new piano. Got to be there for the wedding, too.
Thank you for your hard work. It is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to the next installment!!!!

Thank you for the note. I still want to finish the story although the final chapters may be condensed. It won't change the story but readers will probably notice a stylistic change in the writing. Frankly, with everything I've been through recently, it's going to change even if I don't want any change!

Welcome to the team's cheer-leading section.

Sheep, will there be an update to this wonderful story any time soon? I'm not trying to rush you at all. I know you have a fully loaded plate. I just really need to know how Scott heals up and then there is the arrival of the piano/organ.

Wow! I just found this a few days ago and I couldn't stop reading. So many stories here are not worth the time to read. I've enjoyed "Watching Brad" and "Taking Care of Jason" as I know you have from your comments. I've really regretted that I couldn't make comments and let you know how much this story meant to me along the way. I assumed that by now the story had concluded. I'm so sorry to hear that like Neil, your health has interfered with your life and the writing of this story. Your characters are so very real and I tend to feel in my mind that they are real people. I was so very concerned for Scott when he was in the hospital that he might never leave. As in real life we never know from one minute to the next when we'll take our last breath. Caul's death was so very unexpected and emotionally devastating. I was so afraid that Scott would be the next to go. I suppose that he still could be. He and Vlad work so well together as business partners. I'm looking forward to the organ installation, the new piano, the wedding, Vlad's grandmother's visit and so much more. I was hoping that Adam would transfer to U of T after his first semester but maybe it's not looking that way. Once Aaron completes his course I would think that he couldn't wait to get back to Toronto but that would mean a long term separation of the twins and just for Aaron to leave Adam to be with Scott for his recovery seems to be a big deal in and of itself. I'm sure you have it all figured out in your mind. :) I hope your health improves just the same as I wish it for Neil, not just so you can finish your writing but because I don't like to see bad things happen to good people.

Thanks you so very much for taking so much of your time to give us the gift of "Swim Team". I look forward to the next chapter when it arrives. I'm hoping to get several more chapters before it's conclusion. When every it ends I can assure you that it will be too soon for me.

Hi, guys.
I'm trying to have more of a presence here again AND figure out how to navigate effectively.
Unless they're added it back I don't think my subscriptions list exists as a page I can go to.

Any way, Rustyone reached out to me to see if I knew anything about our beloved Sheep.

I emailed him.
Several days later I heard back.

He's been in the hospital for an extended time.
He started a rumour that they were going to release him by Halloween - and somebody listened.

He JUST got home.

He's thinking maybe he shouldn't have.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
