It's been a couple days since I woke up with a swollen pec. Just my left nipple area is swollen.
Both of my nips are pierced and have been for several years so I don't think that could be of any concern.
There seems to be a golf ball size lump under the nipple and it is tender and some redening of the skin around it
Any ideas ....
I lost my primaty doctor and will have to go to Kaiser soon if it doesn't go away soon.

It could be a cyst but see a Doctor about it.....men DO get breast cancer too.

Its an infection - and yes your piercing is to blame despite you having it for several years.

Thanks for the push and words of wisdom. I took the ring out and scheduled an appt with the doctor Jan 2. Should have done it last week when it happened. I'd still be under the better Kaiser coverage.

Drama seems to be over the time being. Dr. said it is an infection, could have been caused by a bit of rough oral play or manual stimulation. Gee ... it's been pierced over 10 years and I've been the only one playing with it for quite awhile. and no harder than normal. I guess I just hit the right spot to start the infection.

Sooo ... thanks again for the words of wisdom.

JUB is a great site for advice and just sounding off.

Just FYI- contrary to popular belief, most forms of breast cancer are seldom painful. That is one of the reasons that breast cancer is often not diagnosed until it has advanced.

Pain in the breast in men or women is more likely to be mastitis (inflammation of the breast) or gynecomastia (swelling of the breast) as TK discovered. Piercings are often to blame as me4you noticed.

The advice given was correct- unexplained painful swelling anywhere on your body warrants a doctor visit. Glad that it turned out to be something minor, TK.
