It is possible to contract the disease and not have any of the early signs or symptoms show up. If the oral was unprotected, it would behoove you to get tested. The disease can lay "quiet" for years and years but is actually causing massive damage to heart, nerves, brain, etc. Al Capone died of it.

Get a blood test, rather simple and results are usually in a couple of days at most.

You can probably get a doctor to prophylacticly treat you for syphilis based on what you said (ie give you treatment with no proof of infection). The doctor may or may not do testing, probably will.

Syphilis is easily treatable. Depending on how the doctor prefers to treat it, it can be eliminated with a single shot of antibiotics (I also think a single cipro tablet among others is effective, but that might be chlamydia).

Quite agree.

In fact, I would argue that syphilis is worse than HIV in causing morbidity.

It can easily be treated with antibiotics if caught early enough.

See a doctor ASAP.

I was exposed to it or Gonarea(sp?) and the dr just treated me and didn't test me. Okay twice,I got exposed twice(I can not tell a lie) and he treated me. My bf was pissed cause his dr shoved a tube up his pee hole. He was negative so guess I was also(oops!) he was pissed at me! we weren't exclusive at the time cause we were in a mini break-up and he had to tell this boy he was fucking to get tested also. I knew he really liked this boy so that ended it. To this day my bf thinks I made up the story to drive the boy away. I actually think I had a UTI. but you must get treated and if you can avoid the test do it! that scares me!! I am sure people on here have had that test. how bad was it?very painful? my bf said it was the worst! why can't they just take blood? why the swab?

You're definitely more likely to have gotten syphilis than HIV. Talk to your doctor about it. They'll probably start you on antibiotics even before the tests come back actually.

Ahhh in england its the french disease - in France its the british disease - What is important cause its on the rise again in canada/states ESP amoungst MSM (men who have sex with men). GET TESTED its a blood test and if its pos its easy to treat SO . . DO IT DO IT NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW
