It’s just not necessary to say whether or not these people are racists. All that needs to be pointed out is that when they get a chance to gape at a video purporting to show a black Obama official confessing to having mistreated a white farmer (it turned out to be the opposite of that, of course), or a tape of Black Panther King Shamir talking about “killing cracker babies,” the word that best describes the emotions they display at these times is glee.

Very good article. Basically, like I have said all along, there are certain groups in America that want another race war. They just really hate black people which is something I've said all along.

Matt Taibbi believes a better economy will make them go away. That's charitable. I think they're rotten to the core and will never change. Apparently, the New York Times agrees with me.


Gay and bisexual men here, don't think racism and homophobia are two separate issues. Don't fall for that trick because you have a relative that is racist but not homophobic or vice versa.

My feeling is that if certain groups keep poisoning the well, those of us under 40 will continue this race debate even though we grew up with a diverse set of role models. I feel that Fox News will keep stoking racial hatred and I'm going to be 60 hearing about X group being disenfranchised.

Note: A mainstream author echoes my sentiments but he's actually encouraged to say how he feels. So for anyone complaining about my posts, I'll include Matt Taibbi's Twitter name (MTaibbi) where you can bitch to him there.

Good post LL. Taibi is right. We had a thread here recently where a lot of (metaphorical) ink was spilled whining about black racism against whites and how it exacerbates racism against blacks. I hope some of those guys read the Taibi article.

there's definitely a racist element to the tea party, but I think that labeling them as fundamentally racist unfairly dismisses some of the decent libertarian concerns that also exist within the movement.

There is no libertarian concern in that KKK affiliate.

If there was, would they support giving police broad new powers to arbitrarily arrest people that might be American citizens because they look like they're from another country?

Also, would a libertarian really be a part of the biggest government program to ever exist, Social Security? They're libertarian when it doesn't come to them I guess. Government is good for them but not others.

And when I say others, I mean the Joses and Kobes of America.

this is by my acnowledgement, my opinion. I can show you picture after picture and comment after comment to back up my belief, and i think I mostly have in this forum.

all that they complain about was basically true of the Bush years, so they are partisan beyond imagination.

but heres the question... how many of them are actually racist and how many, i.e., the rest of them are just tollerant of the racist ellement within their ranks.

recent events show that while all of them may not be racist, there are many in the organisation who are, and that the rest of the group is fillled with either blind people or racist apologists and defenders.

there is no real way to look at them and see any of them having clean hands in this regard.

What violent rhetoric? I didn't advocate their murder. I just think they should be tried and locked up. I don't believe in murder or capital punishment. I just said being racist was worse than advocating murder of Bush/Cheney. I didn't say either sentiment was appropriate. You need to brush up on your critical reading skills.
