Donald Trump has warned Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis against running for president in 2024, saying doing so would harm the Republican Party.
"I think he would be making a mistake. I think the base would not like it," the former president told Fox News.
He also threatened to release unflattering information about the 44-year-old, without providing details.

Trump's vileness is hitting a new low. He is obviously desperate to stand again
 
This thread is about to get booted to CE&P, but before it does, I only watched five minutes of election coverage at about 12:55 a.m. today, as I can't bear the tedium.

The news pundits were all atwitter about how the GOP had overplayed its hand and claimed a landslide before delivering one. Several governors or other major Trump-backed stooges were handed their asses on platters, signaling that there may now be a number of strategists who are ready to buck the Trump.

What is painfully evident is the character of Trump. His impeachable attempt to smear Biden before the 2020 race is a clear parallel to his hacking at DeSantis now. He clearly cannot run on merits, so attempts to shape the field.

How so many Americans can back him and be led down the primrose path to hell, I marvel. NONE of the election deniers believe what they are saying (the politicians), yet they are willing en masse to lie and say anything to ride the coattails of the fascist. A sign of the general disaffection with Congress and its too-long run of arguing and posturing instead of legislating.
 
Trump is beyond desperate to restart the engine on the gravy train. There is no doubt that deSantis will announce and bleed support from any Trump bid.

Trump's approved candidates generally did not fare well and fewer will likely be looking to share the stage with him over the next 2 years.

But never say never. TrumpCo. may indeed have deep dirt on Ronny.

But with the elections over the DoJ may now press ahead with criminal charges that deSantis can effectively use to beat Trump if the establishment and a lot of voters determine that Trump will only lose them the White House in 2024.
 
And, despite all the Russian trolls and GOP crazies having done their damnedest to paint Biden as senile or pedophile, he once again looked presidential today as he held a press conference to champion democracy, to call for unity. His age notwithstanding, the contrast with Trump's preschooler petulance at losing is everything.
