I never thought tan lines were hot even when they were in. I tanned a lot when I was in my 20's. It was in to be tan. Now I am the opposite. Being tan is a joke now. Everyone has these awful spray tans. How come they can't make a realistic brown spray tan? Everyone is bright orange!

Proper sun-based tanlines are win.
Little racing Speedo tans in particular are lovely. Thong tans, however, and especially those silly 80s and 90s thongs, are ridiculous on both genders.
I'm not a fan of the boardies tan, however - if you're going to get some sun, get it on a larger area please.

Personally, I try to emulate my more pigmented brothers,
not as an identity crisis but why look like a convict or a ghoul.?
Actually, that is a bit harsh.

I'm apparently in the minority that doesn't like tanned guys at all.
With white guys, the paler, the better.
Exactly! Tans on white boys scream SKIN CANCER!!!! No thanks.
I'm Asian so "tan" just fine, but I still use factor 50 sunscreen when I'm out. I'm not interested in looking like a leather bag at age 45. Additionally, most white guys who are blond / light brown haired that have blue or green eyes (my fave amongst the white boys) just turn red, not brown when they try to tan, which ain't attractive at all. I like white boys for being white. And I like Southeastern Asian men, as well as Hispanic men for looking the way they look.

blond, blue, california tan forehead to soles of feet.
started out with white hair, turned blond at puberty
still almost no grey and I burn no more than my hispanic
counterparts here in the golden state. No SFP or spots either.,
