Tariffs in the second Trump Administration [SPLIT]

I thought billions of tariffs are being collected each day?

And just like that, smartphones, computers and chips don't have tariffs.

Working in the plastic processing industry (not my side business, my real job) trump’s tariffs hurt the country in more ways than one. We get most of our raw plastic from China, the Chinese tariffs will ruin the US plastic industry.

I guess all you had to do was announce that you wouldn't be shipping laptops into the US and then like magic....

One of the cities that could be most impacted by a crash in international tourism as a result of Tariffs and TrumpCo. ugliness is Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, in comparison to this time last year, visitor volume is down nearly 12%, convention attendance is off by 20% and gaming revenue has dipped nearly 14% on the Strip.

Keep in mind that many trips and conventions will have been booked well before the election last year, so we can expect to see an even bigger drop-off in international bookings.

As far as domestic bookings and spending? I guess when you consider that Vegas depends on seniors, and families with discretionary income...take a look at what tariffs will do to their budget and what a recession might do to their income security.

So the TrumpCo. Gang that Couldn't Shoot StRaiGhT are on the Sunday shows telling everyone that what happened didin't, that what is happening isn't and that they are all geniuses.

Navarro being corrected by Welker, Lutnick being checked by a WH connected Wall Streeter and Greer saying there aren't really exemptions, they will just be part of another pot of tariffs.

More to come, I am sure....but:

Hopefully MTG has unloaded more of her tech stocks before tomorrow morning:

KARL: You're saying that big tariffs on things like laptops & all those iPhones built in China, they're temporarily off but they're gonna be coming right back in a month?

LUTNICK: Correct. That's right. Semiconductors & pharmaceuticals will have a tariff model in order to encourage them to reshore.

And as we all know, it only takes a month for tech to 're-shore' their manufacturing...but why would they with a tariff structure and implementation that is so erratic and maleable that all they need to do is run them through a third country with a lower rate.

Karma.

Too fucking typical that Musk would profit off this.

Tit for tat tariffs are one thing.

Cutting the US out as a supplier is another.

This is ALL on TrumpCo.

First, all the NATO allies and other tariffed countries are considering the cancellation of their Lockheed Martin planes, but losing the domestic plane market could put tens and of thousands of US jobs that directly and indirectly work in the airplane industry in peril.

...the libertarian-leaning Liberty Justice Center (LJC) is representing five small business owners in a lawsuit challenging Trump's use of emergency powers to bypass Congress and unilaterally impose tariffs on most of the world. The plaintiffs are arguing that Trump's use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) of 1997 is unprecedented, as no prior president has used it to implement new trade duties...

Just about everything he's done is Unconstitutional.

And not surprisingly, China is apparently halting all beef imports from the US and making a deal with Australia.

Drunk uncle is at it again.
