Ya know, I think you're probably right; my dad probably would've done the same. As it was, he had a riding crop for horses that he used on me.

I bet the guy who did the tasering had fun. Is it the first time he has done it? Why would he ask to do it if he wasn't going to enjoy it...
 
I am all for scaring the kids and showing them what prison life is like - however, zapping them with a taser is a WAY over the line.
 
I have to laugh at this because if you peruse through you tube, you can find vids of children and teens doing this to each other (and themselves) just so they can post it. Granted, this situation is a little different in that it was an adult who did the tasing as opposed to another child.

As far as the child who ended up in the hospital, do we know for sure it was directly because of the tasing, or could it have been because he tried to run and ended up hitting his head on a chair or table or something?

Definitely a little more precaution should have been taken to ensure there was no danger of any kind, but that news bit is extremely short on facts, possibly because the whole story was far from sensational.

No - can't say that I have ever been zapped. Worked very hard to keep myself out of situations in which a tasering would occur.:-)
 
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet: The article mentioned the taser put out 50,000 volts. The average consumer self defense taser puts out 100,000 volts. Why was this detail left out? Can we get things in perspective here?
 
The OP used it as such for the play on words Take yor child to work, Tase your child at work. It was actually quite witty. Haven't you ever heard of poetic license?
 
Compared to many things that are done in the name of educating children, this is actually quite mild.
 
If it were ten years ago, my dad would have paid that man good money to taze me.

I used to hate his guts back when I was a teenager and I took great joy out of angering him.

Nowadays, I have the decency to pretend. :p
