I've never eaten Skittles. Are they hard candy or candy-coated chocolate or what? Am I missing anything by never having eaten then?

They taste good, I've had them ever since I was a kid.

skittles is nasty especially the tropical flavor. it tastes like shit.

Trust me, (an expression that is very popular on this site) most anything sold in the vicinity of the check out of a super market is something you aught to avoid.....unless you have a thing for the National Enquirer and Slim Jims.

You're not really missing anything-- it's not that different from any other candy.
 
Used to love it when I was younger, but haven't touched it in years due to diet.
 
I guess their a hard candy...I mean, they've got a shell like coating, but are soft for the most part. So, they're a hard-soft candy...

They taste delicious though. The only thing I can truly recommend them for is the different flavours. Eating different combinations of colours, results in different tastes depending on what colours you eat and how many of each.
