I absolutely love this song. Have it on my Ipod and everything. The original words in the song was,

"...So go and tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy
That's fine, I'll tell mine that you're gay,
and I hat that stupid old pick up truck..."

but it was changed for the music video and radio to;

"...so go and tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy
That's fine, you won't mind if I say,
I hate that stupid old pick up truck..."

One person I know finds it offensive. She is not gay or anything and says that it is good that the lyrics were changed because it offensive to gays. Now I am gay and I don't find that offensive in the least. I just want to know if I am the only one that sees it that way or not.

Re: Taylor Swift; "Picture to Burn"

No I don't find it offensive. I think it's freaking awesome! I absolutely love this song, and the video is great! I would love to tear apart someone's house like that!

Re: Taylor Swift; "Picture to Burn"

no i actually miss that line....Country music changes really non-offensive stuff like the new Lady Antebellum single "Lookin' For A Good Time" they change the lyrics from:
Put in a long hard week doing this 9 to 5
And you're just the girl to get that off my mind
You shouldn't 've worn that dress
You shouldn't dance like that
You got this little heart of mine in overdrive
I sure love this conversation
The band is good, the music's loud
But would you get the wrong impression
If I called us a cab right now

to:

Put in a long hard week doing this 9 to 5
And you're just the girl to get that off my mind
You shouldn't have worn that dress
You shouldn't move like that
You got this little heart of mine in overdrive
I sure love this conversation
The band is good, the music's loud
But would you get the wrong impression
If I asked you to dance right now

totally minor changes that I really didn't think needed to have been changed...but who knows with Country radio

I actually miss that line too. It's a great line and a funny one too. I mean to some guys it's when they are with friends and everything they take it offensive to be seen or said that they are straight. I am not one of those people, I just got that example right Will & Grace. LOL. but I think that she shouldn't have to change it, but I guess that's just the way it goes.

Re: Taylor Swift; "Picture to Burn"

Its not offensive. I love Taylor's music a lot. I cant wait for a new album from her. Maybe she'll keep this momentum up with this country pop sound she has. I have never seen them play country videos on MTV till her and Carrie.

Taylor Swift songs make me cry...

Has this happend to anyone else? I've gotten cheated on in the past and am about 20 and shes 19. Is that strange?

Re: Taylor Swift songs make me cry...

Very strange, considering her songs sound like they were written by an uneducated 25 year old girl.

Re: Taylor Swift songs make me cry...

I don't think it's strange.

A sign of a good song is one that can touch you in some way, and if you can identify with the singer then it's a little bit more personal too.

I've just recently discovered Taylor Swift (after the Love Story single) and now I really like her music and voice.

Re: Taylor Swift songs make me cry...

The first album is by far my favorite, but I love it. Haters can fuck off.

Taylor Swift graduated from high school and writes her own songs. How did you sound when your were 19 years old.... no offense.

Re: Taylor Swift songs make me cry...

^Let 'em hate. I'd LOVE to see them write songs that make them never have to worry about a thing for the rest of their life. And of course, they'll have immature haters as well ;)

Erm, Taylor Swift's VMA performance...

Sure it's cuta and all, and kudos to her for doing it just after the whole Kanye West rudeness incident, but haven't ya'll noticed that all the people in the subway were young????

The same with shows like CSI Miami and others.

In real life, a crowd of people in any city in any place of the World is composed by a much more eclectic (age wise) group of people. You have old, you have middle aged, children, young, etc.

Just a silly thought

Re: Erm, Taylor Swift's VMA performance...

Nobody wants old people around. Like...ew. [/sarcasm]

Re: Erm, Taylor Swift's VMA performance...

“Old people don't need companionship. They need to be isolated and studied so that it can be determined what nutrients they have that might be extracted for our personal use.”

- Homer Simpson

Re: Erm, Taylor Swift's VMA performance...

Well, if we're gonna nitpick on the basis of reality, would Taylor Swift ever, in a million years, take the fucking subway?

Taylor Swift gets me... *sniff*

All this time I was wasting
Hoping you would come around
I've been giving out chances every time
And all you do is let me down

And it's taking me this long
Baby but I figured you out
And you're thinking we'll be fine again
But not this time around

You don't have to call anymore
I won't pick up the phone
This is the last straw
Don't wanna hurt anymore

And you can say that you're sorry
But I don't believe you baby
Like I did before
You're not sorry, no, no, no, no

Looking so innocent
I might believe you if I didn't know
Could've loved you all my life
If you hadn't left me waiting in the cold

And you got your share of secrets
And I'm tired of being last to know
And now you're asking me to listen
Cause it's worked each time before

But you don't have to call anymore
I won't pick up the phone
This is the last straw
Don't wanna hurt anymore

And you can tell me that you're sorry
But I don't believe you baby
Like I did before
You're not sorry, no, no, oh
You're not sorry, no, no, oh

You had me falling for you honey
And it never would've gone away, no
You used to shine so bright
But I watched all of it fade

So you don't have to call anymore
I won't pick up the phone
This is the last straw
There's nothing left to beg for

And you can tell me that you're sorry
But I don't believe you baby
Like I did before
You're not sorry, no, no, oh
You're not sorry, no, no, oh
No, oh, no, oh, no oh
Whoa, no, no
