Because a whole bunch of people were certain he was claiming to be the man in a blog photo of some juan martin berberian, but he never claimed that was a picture of himself, and posted a different self-pic on here. Berberian was just some guy he thought was hot.

You are overlooking some things, Ky. Boston Pilate also said Andreus was first his student, then his colleague and ultimately a tenant in a property he claimed to own. Don't you think a teacher, colleague and landlord, not to mention a friend in real life would know his name?

I'd rather see BP speak to this point but I wonder if a teacher would think it is ethical to confirm a student's name in this venue, particularly in this thread, just for the edifying feeling of saying "i told you so."

Unless you were here when Andreus and Kahil were here, I don't know why you would be overly interested. There were so many threads and so many posts, we couldn't possible explain what all went on. Some people loved the character of Andreus, some hated him. Most fell in between, I would suspect, which means they didn't care much one way or the other.
With your flair for drama, I suspect you would have enjoyed the theather as it unfolded at the time, however.

Maybe somebody can come along and correct my history about the forum, as I really only know what I've read here or bits elsewhere... I'm kinda surprised such a big established place, particularly an online forum for gay guys where many people turn in moments of depression or personal crisis and insecurity, wasn't more suspicious of this.

This thread literally almost makes Andreus glow like a superhuman. Did he not strike more people, particularly with his apparently rather convoluted life story, as a bit too good to be true, at the time he was actually around?

I said it earlier but I'm a pretty staunch believer in "if it's too good to be true, it probably is." It hasn't really let me down, particularly regarding instinct in situations where the facts can't be validated such as someone claiming to be x y or z over the internet.

Or was there a lot of suspicion about him all along?

The one thing I find odd about the whole Andreus stories I've heard so far is, he got HIV by a bullet wound ? Seriously????
I would have been skeptical of that from the get go.
