But if it were you and I, and we're talking about loyalty to someone you know away from JUB... perhaps when it was worked out the name was fake, rather than reveal your real name, I'd panic and not sign in again until the dust had settled.....

Like many others here, I have no personal stake in Andreus.

I've heard enough of his story though and I've been on the net long enough and heard enough fake stories made up for the purposes of attention-getting, and enough fake deaths to say I woudn't have believed his story even if I'd been here personally at the time. The fact that his name appears to not have really existed only confirms to me what I would have expected anyway, which is that this was someone trying to draw attention with, if not entirely lies, over the top exaggerations about who and what they were for the purposes of making a big splash in an anonymous setting where no one would be able to prove otherwise.

Or in short if someone else came forward with a story just as straining to credibility as Andreus's, I'd disregard it as role playing unless I saw something concrete like a newspaper article about him or a personal facebook page or anything that corroborated such an incredible story out of the confines of an anonymous forum account.

That's me. I'm not saying anyone is wrong to have been less skeptical back when Andreus was around, but I do think that the "skepticism of the skepticism" is ratcheting up to enormous proportions over a story which frankly doesn't sound all that credible or lifelike to begin with and it's hard for me to accept so many people believed at face value.

I just preferred this thread when it was a discussion, so I wanted to open people's eyes to other possibilities other than HE IS A HUGE FAKE AND BOSTON PIRATE IS IN ON IT!!!

I think many of us (myself included) are curious what he has to say. I can tell you what I believe but I've never said anything is "definitely true", other than the very few hard things we know for sure.

I think many emotional people are kneejerking and coming into this thread and having that reaction to something few or no people have actually in fact said.

I think I've made my standpoint on this topic clear, between previous posts and my last few - I don't know anyone involved enough to care either way, all I can offer is an outsiders POV.

I agree that many people are "knee-jerking" into reactions.

Everything laid out on the table, all we can say for certain is that Andreus was not the real name of anyone living in the USA (legally), and that someone was (possibly - mods have yet to confirm) signed into that account in the last week.


If I read nothing in this thread other than those 2 facts, I'm not sure I'd be jumping to the same conclusions as others.....

1) Despite the way I am taking part in this thread I do not care if Andreus is fake or real. Either way the events Andreus at JUB put in play still exist in my life. Whether or not they were put there by a fake persona or a real one, they still happened, for better or worse.

Amen. Andreus is real to me regardless and was a huge part of my online life during my early JUB days.

Lazy people read every 6th post and misinterpreted this thread as accusations flying every which-way.

To me it implies a degree of persecution over a real or perceived wrong, as well, though.

No one is here from what I have seen in any spirit of 'revenge' or lifting pitchforks at BP or anything else. Even though all of that has been implied from the drive-by posts and pictures.

You have proven that no one of that name ever lived (legally) in the USA. I'm on board with that. That's fine.

But go find me a similar register for the UK and search "LaughOutLoud".... I'm almost certain it will come up with no results....but I can assure you I am a real person, I am the only person with access to this account, and I do not have any other accounts registered with this website.....

"Andreus" himself signed his photography with his "real name".

Now, think about it. What genuine photographer would sign his work with a phony name?

The only identity in question is Andreus Thanos.

Show me where they said in this thread that was his full, legal, real name and I'll shut up (I fully expect you to be able to do so, as I keep saying - I can't remember every single detail in this thread).

You can't choose to believe he was a professional photographer (signing his name) only long enough to use that evidence against him. Either you believe he was a professional photographer (and thus believe the "signatures") or you don't (thus rendering your point moot ).

You also have to consider the pure unlikelihood of certain events. You're suggesting that there needed to be some sort of collusion between Andreus and Boston Pirate, if ever Boston Pirate should join Jub, in regards to making people believe that Andreus' real name was Thanos. This discussion between them would have had to have taken place in 2007. We have heard how BP wishes he was here when Andreus was. So why did he not join until June 2010, coincidently just one month after the last appearance of Mitri, when he had obviously been getting such rave reviews about it from Andreus back in 2007? Also coincidently, there have been just 2 very prolific posters from Boston on JUB, from what I can make out. How likely would it be for both these huge posters to have known each other so intimately? On the balance of probabilities, you would expect one to make a few posts and then drop out pretty quickly (the norm for most people signing up here). On top of that, there was plenty of opportunity early on in the thread for BP to indicate that Thanos was not the real name, once he began being questioned.

Now, back to the real (possible) lies, someone was saying that this was like the Night Listener by Armistead Maupin so, I went to see the movie gogirl, I'm sorry but that lady was sloppy, she wrote a book, she was asking to be caught, Andreus beats her any day of the week, he never let someone come near at all!

Anyway, if I had to guess, I would say that (s)he's from Boston and at least knows the area where the photographer is located, someone noted some pages ago that there is also an hospital in the area so, it was probably there that most of the details came to his/her mind... And that makes me think, who was on the other side and how sad can that person be? More than any lie, this was a very lonely and probably sick (either because (s)he was in the hospital or even the mental illness that caused all this) person.

Reality is indeed stranger than fiction!

Re: the photography argument. I think you're twisting my words. Let me lay out the facts:

1. He told everybody he was a photographer. Corny asked him a question about this, and he failed it.
2. He put forward a photograph he'd supposedly taken. At the bottom of that photograph, he signed it.
3. Photographers would almost certainly use their "real name" as a signature.
4. We can deduce then, with a reasonable certainty, that Andreus Thanos wants us to believe that that was his real name

It makes little sense to suppose they'd sign it but put a fake name.

Presuming that's what happened, all that implies is that the dishonesty extended further than a screenname, since this is the name that he and BP both purported to be offline real.

I don't understand what these nitpicks point at.
