Terror in Montreal

I am in Montreal and watching the horrow unfold on local television. The shooting happened about an hour and a half ago at Dawson College, which is a junior college for young people largely age 16-20.

Reports are sketchy right now but it appears as many as 16 people have been shot, three of them critically. One gunman was killed by police. Another gunmen shot himself...

Latest reports have one of two gunmen dead, six students critically injured, two in serious condition.

Unfortunately, I am sure those number will rise. Canadians can follow the story on CBC Newsworld or CTV Newsnet.

It is also the lead story on CNN right now...

There's another episode going on at a US bank, but this one pertains to the shooting at Dawson College in downtown Montreal.

I hope our Montreal members are safe. It sounds like a horrifying ordeal at that school today.

This is absolutly horrible I was listening to the radio all day at work. This is the second time it has happened in Montreal. In 1989 another psycho entered a french university and killed thirteen women, because he said femenism ruined his life. Thank God so far besides the shooter there is only 1 death lets pray that none of his other victims die.

My heart goes out to those with loved ones at Dawson college and to those in Montreal who have had to deal with a second tragedy of this magnitude in their city (the first being the massacre in 1989)...a sad day indeed.

Whenever these outbursts of violence happen, I can't help but be disturbed. My heart goes out to those who were injured. I've not checked the news for any updates, but I hope all is well.

I'm not sure we really needed to see his pictire here and_rew, but you are right his photos are, and will be, plastered all over the newspapers and the internet for all to see.

Kudos to the MUC Police (Montreal police force) and all the nurses, doctors, and first responders for making sure the situation wasn't even more horrific than it was.

From all accounts, they did a great job.

Not to long ago a little boy and his parents from my province were murdered in cold blood by Justin Steinke and the little boy's sister... THEY MET ON VAMPIREFREAKS.COM

Maybe this society should take thier death threats seriously.
