Texans generally are Texan first, American second. Most likely these fools would be saying exactly what some people in here are saying - let them go, we don't need them. Which is wrong whoever is saying it. Secession of any mainland state would cause financial havoc for everyone and ultimately bloody and costly Civil War. Haven't we all been down this path before? Does anyone really want a repeat?

The reason they think secession is their right, is because historically speaking Texas was the only sovereign nation that willingly joined the U.S. They think that means they can leave when they want to. But they’re wrong; they’re ignoring the rest of history.

You can't convince the wing nuts, but you can convince the rest of us. If you want a more moderate Texas (and really, all you have to do is wait, the Reps. have alienated the Hispanics so much they're going to push them all across the aisle,) Then you need to be less general and more discriminatory about who you dismiss.

Once again, the fringe nutcases on the right are not representative of anyone but themselves and that part of the Republican Party that associates with them. They do not speak for the government of Texas, or the majority of its population. Perry only pandered to them because he's about to speak for no one but himself and he's trying to save his sorry hide. The rest of us want no part of some crazy, insane rhetoric. If and when this thing is ever an actual popular movement then you can all lump us in together.

Bush is a product of oh so liberal, Ivy League New England, not Texas. The idiots who get on the TV, shout and scream a lot, but they have no chance at making this a reality. Perhaps we should ask why we’re not seeing anyone else on the TV except them.

A big part of this is racism, they don’t want to have to accept that there is a black man at the head of their country. They’re also upset that the fundie junta has been tossed out of power. Their attitude is exactly this:

I think it would be a great idea to let the assholes go their own way.We should have done it a long time ago.Woulda saved a lot of bloodshed and hassles.

I think we would all agree the U.S. has a growing problem with the right wing menace.As we have long suspected,they hate America.Now finally,they are coming public with their troubling admission.

That's ok with me,because I hate them motherfuckers too.Yet, I do want them to have a walled in,right wing homeland.I've thought it over,and Texas ,Tennessee and Georgia are just too damn pretty to hand over to these pigs.

I think they would look good in the states of Mississippi,Alabama and Louisiana..That way, they can be surrounded,and if neccesary driven into the Gulf of Mexico should the need ever arise..

G.W. went on to become one of the worst Presidents in American History, and left us with Governor "Good Hair" Perry, who will go down in history is the longest serving Governor in my state's history.

Who has driven the state into the ground so far that we're almost Mississippi, in almost every statistic to be found.

I always felt we should use Florida as a place to resettle the Israelis. They can give Palestine back their shit-hole country, and they can live in Florida. Just dig a trench at the border and cut her loose. They can then either stay on their own as their separate nation state or join the new Southern Federation you recommend.

I have several friends that live there and three of my really good friends here are in the Israeli reserves.

My good friend and former room mates wife missed a bus one morning and would have been right where a nail bomb went off if she hadn't. The Palestinians won't take yes for an answer. They will not be satisfied as long as there is an Israel.
