i never once said all of ya...i said the MAJORITY. if you look at election results, bush and republicans routinely pull in 70% or more so it's the VAST majority. as for san antonio, are we talking about one or two cities? i thought we were talking about an entire region? why are you getting pissy about it? cause you know it's a fact...all these attempts at anti gay marriage amendments, attempts to overturn abortion rights, break down the separation between church and state, etc. are all coming from southern politicans...the region is becoming more evangelical while the rest of the country is becoming less religious and that is a fact. all i said was, since in our system majority rules, let the people in that region set up whatever system they want but do it separately from us. why is that a bad idea? if you don't like what they set up, move. it's completely absurd that texas and massachussets are under the same government when we have more in common with canada than you.

The problem with the "vast" majority is that while Bush may have garnered 70% in Texas, that number can be highly incorrect. If you think 30% register to vote, and of that number 30% actually do vote (and that's a very liberal number), then you have a small minority of people electing an official that not necessarily the majority of people want. It's just that the vast majority do not give a damn.
The last gubernatorial election where Rick Perry won, he was 34% of the 28% of the people who actually voted. And Texans aren't the only guilty party in a state of apathy.

i say let them seperate themselves from the south, then we can charge them more for the gas, food and other vital crops that we in the south spend our lifes growing producing and harvesting so that the yuppies like someone on this board can live their lives in comfort. That's it, we'll just charge them out the ass so we the hard working men and women of the south that make this county run, can finally get our dues. Maybe someday I'll have enough spair time on my hands to sit around with my thumb in my ass and think up stupid shit like this. But for now, I'll just keep on earning my living and keep doing my part to try to make the yuppies feel like they should be in control.

What truly disappoints me is that for someone who is so obviously bright and intelligent as yourself cannot see beyond the narrow vision of his own prejudices and recognize that his own rhetoric is just as hateful as that of the very people he rails against.

why would i move to canada?...i love my great state of massachussets. why don't you guys finally secede. unlike the civil war, i doubt anyone would attempt to stop you since at least the northeast has had it's fill of your regions religious fervor and stupidity...then you can go back to living in the dark ages as you desperately want to without affecting my life and having your idiot politicians ram thier pathetic bigotry down my throat. i love my country...at least the majority of my country. you know...the one that is secular and science oriented.
as for the person who says that a republican domination of the south doesn't extend to all southerners... again, i realize that. but majority rules, and the VAST majority down there don't reflect our values here. nor do they reflect the values of the mountain states and libertarian west.
