Hey Thad! (*8*)

I've been living vicariously through you... since I don't have a life. :luv:

Hi Paulll! Since I'm from Philadelphia, gotta love the Flyers. My big hockey trip this season involves the St. Louis Blues. I'll be following them for three road games in California starting November 16 in San Jose.

Hello Thad!! That sounds exciting!! I hope you have a fun trip!!

Philadelphia, very cool! Love historical cities! Boston here, a Bruins fan through and through. My maternal grandparents met at a Bruins game in 1950/1951 so it's sentimental for me as well. :)

Good Sunday morning, Thad! (*8*)

Sounds like you had a good time making brownies yesterday. I should make a treat like that for myself. We have Wawa's down here, but I never think of going shopping there for anything but gas.

That California hockey road trip should be exciting. I need to get out and go somewhere myself.

I totally wasted today.

Yesterday I saw The Rocky Horror Show at Footlighters Playhouse. It was very good. The cast was talented and acted fearlessly. The actor playing Brad was BIG and I liked that non-traditional casting. Where they got a corset in his size I'll never figure. Dr. Scott, in the wheelchair, was played by a woman. Good choice.

Tomorrow is Sunday but I may do actual paperwork.

Monday it's off to Long Island for Islanders hockey! I love their new arena, on the grounds of Belmont Park racetrack. The beer is expensive. But sightlines and atmosphere are great. I'm seeing the Detroit Red Wings, who are off to a good start this season.

Good Tuesday morning, Thad! (*8*)

I saw that you posted that pic inside the Islanders arena. I hope you had a good time there.

That Rocky Horror Show sounds interesting. I'm not sure about casting Dr. Scott as a woman though, because that changes all the dynamics. Dr. Scott was originally the epitome of an old homophobic man, who was forced to watch that wild orgy. If Dr. Scott is a woman, her shock would be caused by something else.

Happy Halloween Thad! (*8*)

The Islanders game was...interesting. No score in period 1. A two-goal Islanders lead, lost with 3 Red Wings goals, tied up and went to overtime where the Red Wings won.

There are no fans like Islanders fans. I felt so at home.

I didn't consider Rocky Horror's non-traditional Dr. Scott to affect the show's message or action much. She still used that wheelchair.

I'm back to NY on Nov. 2, to be in the studio audience for The Daily Show on Comedy Central. Yes, it's still on.

Good Thursday morning, Thad! (*8*)

It sounds like you're having all kinds of fun. I envy you, having that extensive commuter rail system all over the Northeast. I wish we had that here in Florida. It would be great going to Tampa and take in a lightning game or the nightlife, and sleep on the train returning home. As it is, I'd have to drive, and I'd prefer not to do it at night, which would require a stay at a hotel.

Hi Andrew! Hi John!

I'm on the second leg headed to New York. My route:

SEPTA 102 trolley from Drexel Manor Station (one block from home) to 69th Street Terminal

SEPTA Market-Frankford Subway-Elevated ("the El") to 30th Street Station

SEPTA Regional Rail to Trenton

NJ Transit Northeast Corridor to Penn Station NY

OK, here's the kicker. Guess how much?

For a senior? $7.65.

SEPTA Senior Card (free) gives free rides on all SEPTA vehicles. It's paid for by Pennsylvania Lottery proceeds, which by law are dedicated to senior citizen programs.

If the train conductor is a stickler, there may be an additional $1.75 charge to Trenton, since it's outside Pennsylvania. They don't usually care.

NJ Transit isn't as generous, but their senior discounts start at age 62. I enjoyed them then.

It eas a ptetty interesting show. I liked the second half best, featuring author Doug Melville, author of Invisible Generals.20231102_170233.jpg

I fly to Cleveland Friday afternoon for the weekend, then Tuesday flying on to San Jose. But right now I'm packing.

Good Tuesday morning, Thad! (*8*)

You're probably taking off from Cleveland airport right now as I write this, on your trip to San Jose. Enjoy your trip and the NHL hockey games you'll take in on the West Coast.
