When I look across the people that populate this forum I do not see enemies, but friends who are passionated about what they believe. I apologize to those who feel that I have spoken down to them, or that I have not seen or heard their opinion, or that I do not know their life experiences. I apologize when to those who I have offended when my actions are that of a hypocrite.
I try my best to understand all sides of a situation, and I try my best to always ask why. The ultimate philosophical toy, and the ultimate base characteristic of humanity. I admit to throwing monkey wrenches out there not because they are so much philosophical toys, but because they are one more side of our shared history.
In the fight for all civil rights and ultimately human rights it is not the court of law, the congress, or a lobby group that reigns supreme. In the end it is your neighbor, your fellow flesh and bone man. Some people may never change, but some people will.
Underestimating a foe rather it is in debate or war is never a great tactical move. I underestimate a lot of persons, and I overestimate myself. I try to minimize the overestimation of myself as much as possible, but I, like any other person who is human are not always capable of doing so. The world is not of clean, elegant, and well engineered design. Philosophers, sages, and gurus have always taken the human element out over estimated man. A beautiful idea is elegant on paper, but in execution not so much.
Maybe my monkey wrenches have no place in political debate, I will not pretend to know the answer to that question.
Thank you my friend for opening my eyes to a full spectrum of opinions, life experiences, and the shared stories of our human story.
