As for their philanthropy, when you learn the top tier tax laws, you'll see that they actually MAKE more money when they strategically donate to charity.

You can allege any motive you like for their philanthropy, but they do in fact give vast amounts that help others. By like freedom, we can impute that you hate lesbians so have no other motive than to disparage them for the orientation. As it is unprovable in both cases, it's the same.

To their fuel consumption, when you only eat fruits and vegetables grown in your town, when you no longer use private transportation, and when you forego indoor heating and cooling in order to reduce you're carbon footprint, your virtue may be deemed sufficient for you to have a rock to stand on when condemning others.

Your hyperbole is akin to blasting educational TV for children because they are forever ramming down the kids' throats the supposed necessity of learning vocabulary, understanding the world around them, and accepting other kinds of people. Horrible that.

When environmental activist celebrities advocate helping the ecosystem and its members, its accurately credited as virtue, not tyranny or dictatorship. They wield no power to compare to a dictator's. The same mechanism for fame that makes them celebrity is completely voluntary by the public at large and is withdrawn when there is adequate reason or mere lack of appeal.

If you don't share a view of carbon footprints then you can ill use it as an effective criticism of those who do. They care and are attempting reform, whether they meet your standards or not.
